About me and my therapy practice

Sex and intimacy can be difficult to talk about — especially when things don’t feel right. I offer a warm, respectful and confidential space where you can explore sexual or relationship concerns without shame or judgement.

I work with individuals and couples experiencing sexual difficulties, loss of desire, relationship conflict, or the emotional impact of life events such as illness, trauma, or neurodiversity. My approach is collaborative, helping you understand what’s happening beneath the surface and supporting you to make meaningful changes.

My Background

I trained at the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships and the Relate Institute, where I completed a Master’s in Relationship Therapy and a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosexual Therapy. I am a registered member of Â鶹ԭ´´ and COSRT and adhere to their ethical codes.

I am an integrative therapist, drawing on psychodynamic, systemic and CBT-informed approaches, and I tailor therapy to suit you rather than using a one-size-fits-all model.

My first session

Psychosexual Assessment & Individual History-Taking

Relationship and Psychosexual Therapy begins with a structured assessment process. This allows us to develop a clear understanding of the difficulty you are experiencing and to agree a treatment plan that is appropriate, realistic, and tailored to you.

Assessment usually takes place over one or more sessions and may include individual history-taking sessions, even when therapy will later involve a partner. This is a standard and important part of psychosexual work.

During assessment we may explore:

  • Your current sexual concern and how it developed
  • Relationship history and current dynamics (if relevant)
  • Emotional wellbeing, stress levels, and life circumstances
  • Sexual history, beliefs, and experiences
  • Physical health, medication, or medical factors
  • Any relevant experiences of trauma, illness, or neurodiversity

You are always in control of what you share. The pace is guided by your comfort, and sensitive areas are approached with care and respect.

For couples, individual sessions provide a confidential space for each partner to speak openly and help ensure that therapy proceeds safely, ethically, and with clarity.

Treatment Planning

Following assessment, we will collaboratively agree a treatment plan. This may include:

  • Clear therapeutic goals
  • An indication of the likely focus and length of therapy
  • Recommended session structure (individual and/or couple sessions)
  • Therapeutic approaches appropriate to your needs

Psychosexual therapy may involve talking therapy, psychoeducation, relational work, and where appropriate, structured exercises to support change between sessions. Any exercises are discussed in advance and only undertaken with consent.

The assessment process helps ensure that therapy is grounded, purposeful, and responsive to your specific situation rather than based on assumptions or generic techniques.

I also work with individuals who are recovering from relationship breakdowns, experiencing repeated relationship difficulties, or wanting to understand patterns that affect their emotional or sexual relationships.

About me and my therapy practice

I offer individual and group supervision to trainees and qualified practitioners working within the NHS and private practice, including relationship counsellors and psychosexual therapists.

I am a psychosexual therapist at The Royal Marsden Hospital, where I specialise in supporting individuals and couples affected by the impact of cancer treatment on sexual wellbeing, intimacy, and relationships.

Practice description

I believe supervision works most creatively and productively if the therapist feels dynamic, supported and influential in shaping the work. I see my role as supervisor in helping a practitioner to identify blocks, impasse, feeling stuck within the work and reflecting on interventions, technique and ideas to move forward; identifying useful resources, reading, CPDs when appropriate; to look a self-care, best practice and issues of ethics in clinical context.

Models of supervision vary, but essentially the ‘7 Eyed Model’ can create a good broad spectrum from which to work.

Please do contact me to discuss supervision further.

My first session

Prior to our first session we shall a telephone conversation (free of charge) to discuss our contract, what type of supervision you had before and what kind of supervisor you are looking for.

You can ask any questions about how I work and my experiences and qualifications. If we decide to work together, we shall establish your availability to come for supervision, locations (Central London, Finchley Central or Zoom), cost and your preferred method of paying.
