About me and my therapy practice
Hello I am an Integrative therapist with over 12 years experience and Work relationally on a one to one basis, I integrate Attachment, Psychodynamic and Person Centred theory.
Attachment theory helps us to understand how we form and maintain relationships.
Psychodynamic theory helps us bring into our conscious awareness unconscious processes that have been developed through our life's relational experiences.
Person Centred theory puts you at the centre of our work whilst developing a therapeutic relationship based on Empathy, Congruence and Unconditional Positive Regard (UPR).
Integrating the three theories helps build a better understanding of you, your life experiences and how they affect the way you think, feel and behave today.
For your therapy to be a positive and successful experience I believe the quality of our therapeutic relationship is key.
Your therapy will be tailor made to suit your needs focusing on what is important for you.
We will work at a comfortable pace set by you to ensure you don't feel overwhelmed.
With a wealth of experience, tools and strategies to share, I will help you discover and access your own inner strengths and resources to achieve a more positive outlook and a sense of release from the struggles you may be experiencing.
Practice description
My practice is set in a purpose built therapy room with air-conditioning and toilet facilities located in my garden separate from my house. There is a private parking area at the back of my house affording discreet access to the property through the garden.
My first session
I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation where we can briefly explore what brings you to therapy and how I work.
If you feel comfortable with me and how I work then we would book your first appointment which would be a more in depth assessment of your therapeutic needs.
At your first appointment the assessment is designed to build as big a picture of you, your life experiences and what you are currently struggling with as possible.
At the end of the assessment we will talk about how you felt during the experience and any threads I may have noticed weaving its way through your story.
If you feel comfortable with your initial appointment and any observations I may have made I will then invite you to book your first therapy session.

It considers the clients experience as well as the dynamics of the therapeutic relationship, the wider systemic context and the impact of the work on the therapist.
