About me and my therapy practice

I am a Â鶹ԭ´´ accredited therapist with over 13 years of experience supporting adults and couples through anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, and life transitions.

I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), an evidence based therapy widely used to help people process trauma, distressing memories, and experiences that continue to affect the present. EMDR can help reduce the emotional intensity of past events so they no longer feel as overwhelming or intrusive.

Alongside EMDR, I offer a warm and reflective therapeutic space where we can explore the patterns, experiences, and relationships that may be shaping how you feel today. Many of the difficulties we face in adulthood are connected to earlier experiences, and therapy can help bring understanding, clarity, and change.

I work with people who may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, struggling in relationships, experiencing burnout, or feeling stuck in repeating patterns that they want to understand and move beyond.

My aim is to provide a calm, supportive space where you can speak openly and feel understood without judgement.

Practice description

My practice offers a calm, confidential, and supportive space where you can talk openly about what is happening in your life. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure why certain patterns keep repeating in their relationships, work, or emotional life. Therapy provides the time and space to explore these experiences with curiosity and care.

I work in a thoughtful and collaborative way. Together we will explore what has brought you to therapy, the experiences that may be influencing how you feel today, and the changes you would like to make in your life. My aim is not to judge or direct you, but to help you understand yourself more deeply and develop the insight and confidence needed to move forward.

I am trained in EMDR therapy, which is often used to help people process trauma, distressing memories, and experiences that continue to affect the present. When appropriate, EMDR can be integrated into our work to help reduce the emotional impact of past events.

In our sessions you can expect warmth, honesty, and respect. I believe therapy works best when there is a strong sense of safety and trust. We will work at a pace that feels manageable for you, and you will always have space to reflect, ask questions, and shape the direction of the work.

Many clients find that therapy helps them feel more grounded, develop healthier boundaries, understand their relationships more clearly, and build a stronger sense of self.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and begin to understand what has brought you to therapy. Many people feel nervous about starting therapy, so the first meeting is designed to feel calm, supportive, and unpressured.

We will talk about what is currently happening in your life and what you would like help with. You may want to share recent challenges, relationship difficulties, anxiety, stress, or past experiences that continue to affect you. You can share as much or as little as feels comfortable.

During this session I will also ask some gentle questions about your background, important life experiences, and what you hope to gain from therapy. This helps me build a clearer picture of your situation so that we can think together about the best way to support you.

If EMDR therapy is something we are considering, the first sessions will also involve understanding the experiences or memories that may be connected to your current difficulties. EMDR requires some preparation before the reprocessing phase begins, so we would spend time ensuring that the process feels safe and appropriate for you.

The first session is also a chance for you to get a sense of how I work and to decide whether you feel comfortable continuing. Therapy works best when you feel safe, understood, and able to build trust with your therapist.
