About me and my therapy practice
I believe therapy works best as a collaborative and respectful process, where you feel safe, supported, and heard. I offer a warm, non-judgmental space to explore your experiences, emotions, and the impact they may still have on your life. Each person is unique, and I tailor my approach to your needs, working at your pace to help you move towards the goals that matter to you. Building a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work.
I bring over a decade of experience as a qualified counsellor and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Pluralistic Counselling from the University of Abertay. I am an accredited member of the Â鶹Դ´, as well as a qualified EMDR practitioner and supervisor.
Practice description
As a pluralistic therapist, I draw on a wide range of approaches to shape therapy around your individual needs. These may include:
• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) tools
• Mindfulness and compassion-focused techniques
• Inner child work
• Person-centred and psychodynamic-informed therapy
• Trauma-informed interventions
I have extensive experience working in Private Practice, through Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs), within IAPT, and the third sector. I am also a registered provider with BUPA. Over the years, I’ve supported clients with many different challenges, including:
• Anxiety and depression
• Trauma and abuse
• Personality disorders
• Gender identity and LGBTQ+ issues
• Neurodiversity
• Substance use and addiction
• Suicidal thoughts and self-harm
• Bereavement and loss
At the heart of my practice is a commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and collaborative space. My aim is for you to feel heard, understood, and supported in making meaningful and lasting changes in your life.
I offer therapy online via Teams and Google Meet or WhatsApp, providing flexible and accessible support from the comfort of your own space.
My first session
In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other and agree on a therapeutic contract. This covers confidentiality, any safeguarding concerns, and a space to explore what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain.
If you’ve had therapy or support before, we can reflect on what felt helpful, or not so helpful, so that we can shape a way of working that suits you. Some people like to set clear goals or track progress, while others prefer a more open space to explore as things arise. We can also use tools such as personal timelines if you find structure helpful, or work in a gentler, more organic way, always at your pace.
There’s no single way to approach therapy. Everyone uses the space differently, and I’ll support you in finding what feels most comfortable and meaningful. My role is to offer a safe, supportive environment where you can move towards greater wellbeing, healing, and authenticity.
Before your first appointment, I’m happy to answer any questions you may have. I’ll also send you a standard therapy agreement covering key details such as payment and cancellation policies. If at any point I feel another type of support might better suit your needs, I’ll be open about this and can help signpost you to other services.
