About me and my therapy practice

I believe therapy should be a collaborative, respectful, and safe process. I offer a warm, non-judgmental, and supportive space to explore your experiences, emotions, and the impact they continue to have. My work is grounded in deep respect for each individual鈥檚 story and resilience, where client is unique, with their own needs and goals. My aim is to work at your pace, creating a space where we can work together to achieve your goals by building a strong therapeutic relationship.

With over a decade of experience as a qualified counsellor, I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Pluralistic Counselling from the University of Abertay and am an accredited member of the 麻豆原创. I am also a qualified EMDR practitioner.

Practice description

As a pluralistic therapist, I draw from a wide range of approaches which can include:

* Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) tools

* Mindfulness and compassion-focused techniques

* Inner child work

* Person-centred and psychodynamic-informed therapy

* Trauma-informed interventions

My professional background includes extensive experience in counselling and psychotherapy in Private Practice, through Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs), via IAPT, and within the third sector. I am also a registered provider with BUPA. Over the years, I鈥檝e supported clients facing a broad range of issues, including:

* Anxiety and depression

* Trauma and abuse

* Personality disorders

* Gender identity and LGBTQ+ issues

* Neurodiversity

* Substance use and addiction

* Suicidal thoughts and self-harm

* Bereavement and loss

At the heart of my practice is a commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and collaborative environment. My goal is to help clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.

I offer online therapy sessions, providing flexible and accessible support from the comfort of your own space.

My first session

In our first session, we鈥檒l begin by agreeing on a therapeutic contract. This includes discussing confidentiality, looking at any current risks or safeguarding concerns, and exploring what has brought you to therapy. We鈥檒l also talk about what you鈥檙e hoping to gain from our sessions.

If you鈥檝e had therapy or mental health support in the past, we鈥檒l take time to reflect on what was helpful鈥攐r unhelpful鈥攁bout those experiences. This can guide us in shaping a way of working that feels right for you.

Some clients find it useful to set clear goals or track progress, while others prefer a more open, reflective space to explore things as they arise. If you find structure helpful, we might look at creating a personal timeline to explore key life events and how they may relate to current symptoms or patterns. If that feels too directive, we can take a gentler, more organic approach鈥攚orking session by session at your own pace.

There鈥檚 no single way to 鈥渄o鈥 therapy. Everyone uses the space differently, and I fully support that. My role is to provide a space where you feel safe, supported, and able to move towards a deeper sense of healing and authenticity鈥攚hatever that looks like for you.

Before your first session, I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. I鈥檒l always be honest and transparent about my experience and areas of expertise. If I feel that another type of support may be more suitable for your needs, I鈥檒l gladly help signpost you to other services.

If you feel I鈥檓 the right therapist for you, we鈥檒l arrange a time that suits you for your first session. I鈥檒l also send over a standard therapy agreement outlining important details like cancellation and payment policies to be agreed before we begin.
