Availability

I work Mondays to Thursdays during the day. My last appointment is at 5.30pm. I have limited availability for a small number of clients or supervisees just now.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an accredited, relational, trauma informed, integrative therapist with 15 years experience of private practice (Â鶹ԭ´´). I am also a qualified (UKCP) supervisor. I have over 35 years experience working with people healthcare and educational settings.

Practice description

Many clients come to therapy because they’re simply exhausted from being strong for too long. Over time, this can lead to addiction issues, confusion about identity, or difficulty setting healthy boundaries with those you care  about.

We’ll take things at your pace and build trust together. When you’re ready, we’ll begin to gently explore the more complicated experiences of your past. I’ll help you recognise patterns of thinking or behaviour that may be holding you back.

A big focus of my work is helping people learn the difference between emotions and overwhelm, and how to regulate these states. Developing these skills can help you feel calmer, more in control of your choices, reactions, and relationships.

Who I work with:

I work with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, abuse, bereavement and clients curious about possible ADHD and neurodivergence.ʉ۬I have lived experience of the LGBTQ+ community, neurodivergence and complex trauma.ʉ۬

My special interests include:
Dissociative Disorders (including DID, depersonalisation, and derealisation)
Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), complex PTSD and spirituality.ʉ۬I also enjoy working with clients from GRSD and minority ethnic communities.

I trained as a supervisor with CICS (Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology) because of its sex-positive and inclusive approach, which aligns with my own values.

Hollie, My Therapy Cat                â€¨

My gentle (and much-loved) therapy cat, Hollie, often curls up beside clients during sessions. Many find her presence calming and grounding. Of course, if you’re nervous or allergic, I’ll ensure she’s not in the room.

I offer:
Face-to-face sessions from my home in Bonnyrigg as well as online therapy (for local and international clients) using the encrypted platform Whereby.

Walk and Talk sessions are also available, using the Dalkeith to Penicuik walkway.

I work with adults, couples, and young people 16+, offering both short- and long-term counselling.

My first session

You are welcome to have one session or many. If you don’t feel completely comfortable and understood I would encourage you to find someone different. If you went to a hairdresser who didn’t cut your hair the way you wanted, you wouldn’t go back. It’s the same with therapy. You are in charge, this is your journey.

I am happy to do one off supervision sessions on a particular topic. I am happy to negotiate whether we work weekly, fortnightly or monthly sessions depending on your support needs, caseload and financial situation

I am happy to be your primary or secondary supervisor. I work either face to face from my home in Midlothian or online.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an accredited, integrative Â鶹ԭ´´ therapist with 15years experience of private practice. I am also a UKCP qualified supervisor. I did a generic diploma in supervision with CICS (Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology) because of its sex positive, inclusive approach which aligns with my values. I do a lot of work with the LGBTQ+ community, but not exclusively. I have lived experience of being queer, neurodivergence and complex trauma.

I work in relationally, using the seven eyed model.

Practice description

Are you looking for a supervisor who understands the importance of being real: where it’s safe to express ethical dilemmas, professional concerns, fears, or personal insecurities without feeling criticised or mistrusted? This is the kind of supervision I’ve benefitted from for over a decade, and it’s who I strive to be.

Supervision, for me, is about creating safety and trust — going at your pace and maintaining a collaborative relationship. It’s a space for curiosity and reflection, especially around the dynamics present in the therapeutic relationship.

Who I Work With

I support therapists who work with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, bereavement, abuse and those curious about possible neurodivergence.

I am experienced in supporting clients who struggle with dissociative disorders, DID, FND seizures, BPD, and OCD.

My Approach

I use the Seven-Eyed Process Model to create a safe and reflective space where we can explore the multi-layered dynamics present in therapy. I integrate a variety of approaches, including psychodynamic, person-centred, IFS (Internal Family Systems), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Mindfulness, drawing flexibly on what best supports you and your clients.

Experience and Training

I qualified as a therapist in the psychodynamic and person centred model in 2012. I did a general diploma of supervision in 2025, with CICS (Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology), which is regulated by UKCP. I chose to do my training with CICS because of their sex positive and inclusive approach, which aligns with my values.

I work with individual therapists, and those working with young people (aged 16+).

I particularly enjoy supporting trainee therapists as they navigate the early, often anxiety-provoking stages of their professional journey — helping them grow in confidence and self-trust.
