About me and my therapy practice

I am a fully qualified and accredited Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, working in private practice since 2011. Over the years I have continued to expand my professional development, gaining qualifications and specialisms across counselling, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, mindfulness, Reiki, ADHD & ASD coaching, and clinical supervision.

My expertise comes not only from training but also from lived experience and many years of working within diverse fields. I have specialist knowledge in substance misuse and addictions, learning disabilities, domestic violence, pain and chronic fatigue conditions, life-limiting illness, fibromyalgia, musculoskeletal and arthritic diseases, and other pain-related or fatigue-based challenges. I integrate this understanding into both counselling and coaching, supporting people to build skills for management, resilience, and a more fulfilling life.

I also bring a holistic perspective, integrating approaches such as Reiki healing, hypnotherapy, and regression therapy when safe and appropriate, alongside traditional counselling and psychotherapy methods. This allows me to create a tailored therapeutic experience that meets each individual鈥檚 unique needs.

As a psychotherapist, I am fully trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and work extensively with Personality Disorders, particularly Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), emotional regulation difficulties, and complex trauma. My approach is always bespoke鈥攄rawing from different therapeutic modalities to meet the individual where they are.

I work with adults, young people, and children, offering support with trauma, anxiety, depression, bereavement, chronic illness and fatigue, addictions, neurodivergence, relationship and family challenges, work stress, anger, self-esteem, and personality or emotional regulation difficulties, as well as general counselling and life coaching and more.

Alongside therapy, I also provide clinical supervision for counsellors.

What to Expect from Therapy with Me

Starting therapy can feel daunting, so I aim to make the process as welcoming, supportive, and straightforward as possible.

I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about whatever is on your mind. Sessions are always tailored to you 鈥 there is no 鈥渙ne size fits all.鈥 Because I work integratively, I draw on different approaches such as counselling, psychotherapy, DBT skills, mindfulness, coaching, and holistic therapies like hypnotherapy or Reiki (when appropriate). This means we can work in a way that best suits your needs, whether that鈥檚 practical strategies, deeper exploration, or gentle supportive space.

Together, we might explore your past experiences, current challenges, or hopes for the future. I鈥檒l help you build coping tools, develop greater self-understanding, and find new ways of managing difficulties. Some clients come with a specific issue they鈥檇 like to focus on, while others use sessions as an ongoing space for reflection, growth, and support.

I work with adults, young people, and children, and can offer short-term, solution-focused work or longer-term therapy depending on what feels right for you. You can expect me to be straightforward, compassionate, and collaborative 鈥 I believe therapy should feel like a partnership where you鈥檙e actively involved in shaping your journey.

Whether you鈥檙e dealing with trauma, loss, health issues, stress, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling stuck, my goal is to support you in moving toward greater clarity, resilience, and a more fulfilling life.

My first session

Your First Session

I call the first session an initial assessment. This is a chance for us to explore what has brought you to therapy and discuss any information that will help support you on your counselling journey. From this, we can talk about the best way forward and consider which therapies or approaches may be most helpful for your needs.

There is no commitment to continue after this first session. You are free to decide whether the timing feels right for you, or whether you feel I am the right therapist to work alongside you.

The first session usually lasts around one hour and is charged at the standard session rate listed.
