About me and my therapy practice
How I Work
People often come to counselling when something feels too much, too loud, or too heavy to carry alone. You might feel anxious, stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply unsure of where you fit in your relationships, your life, or yourself.
My role is to offer a space that is safe, steady, and human. I am interested, non-judgemental, and genuinely curious about you !
Not just your difficulties, but the wider context of who you are and what you’ve lived through. You don’t need to have the right words, a clear plan, or a polished version of yourself. We can begin exactly where you are.
I have over 15 years’ experience as a counsellor and more than 20 years working within the helping professions. I work with people navigating anxiety, trauma, relational challenges, and the complex emotions that can arise around identity, change, loss, and parenthood, including the often-unspoken realities of maternal experience.
How we work together matters. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, and I’ll check in with you about what feels helpful as we go. Sometimes therapy is about careful unpacking; sometimes it’s about noticing patterns; sometimes it’s about slowing things down enough to breathe again. There is space for depth, warmth, and the occasional moment of lightness too, because being human is rarely tidy, and therapy doesn’t need to be either.
Alongside counselling, I am an EMDR practitioner, and where appropriate I can gently integrate EMDR into our work. I currently offer reduced-rate EMDR sessions as I continue to develop this part of my practice.
I work with young people aged 12+ and adults of all ages. My hope is that you leave sessions feeling more connected to yourself, a little steadier, and less alone with what you’re carrying.
Practice description
Practice Description
My intention is that my counselling practice offers a calm, thoughtful space where you can slow things down and make sense of what you’re carrying.
Sessions are collaborative and responsive, shaped around what feels most important for you rather than following a fixed script or formula.
People come to see me for many reasons: Anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, past experiences that still have an impact, or a sense of being out of alignment with themselves or their values.
I also work with people affected by moral injury, often arising from work, caregiving roles, or systems that have asked too much, conflicted with personal values, or left little room for humanity.
My work draws on different ways of working, including talking therapy, EMDR, and reflective, coaching-informed approaches.
This allows space not only to process emotional experiences, but also to think clearly, reconnect with agency, and explore what change might look like in real, everyday terms. We will talk together about what feels most helpful for you, and I’ll check in regularly as we go.
I work with young people aged 12+ and adults, and I’m mindful of how wider contexts, family, work, culture, identity, and expectation might shape how we experience ourselves and our difficulties.
Sessions aim to be containing, respectful, and human, with room for depth, reflection, and the occasional moment of lightness.
Practicalities, boundaries, and expectations are discussed clearly, so you know where you stand. My intention is that counselling feels like a place where you can be honest, supported, and thoughtfully accompanied as you make sense of what matters to you.
My first session
My First Session
The first session is a chance for us to meet, settle in, and get a sense of whether working together feels right. There’s no pressure to share everything or to arrive with a clear story. We can decide on a pace that feels manageable for you.
At the beginning, I’ll talk through practicalities and boundaries, including confidentiality and how we’ll work together, so you know what to expect. I may ask some gentle questions to understand what has brought you to counselling and what you’re hoping for, as part of the assessment of your needs.
Some people want to talk, others need time to find their words, and some simply want to feel out the space. All of this is okay.
When you work with me we can begin to think about what support might be most helpful for you, including how counselling might look over time.
If approaches such as EMDR or more structured, coaching-informed work might be relevant, this will be discussed collaboratively to look at if this is the right thing.
Some people find the first session brings relief; others feel tired, emotional, or unsure.
My intention is that you leave feeling heard, respected, and a little less alone with what you’re carrying.

About me and my therapy practice
How I Work
I offer clinical supervision to counsellors, psychotherapists, and helping professionals, providing both one-to-one supervision and group supervision. I bring extensive experience working directly with clients across a wide range of presentations, ages, and backgrounds, alongside senior leadership and service delivery roles within counselling and mental health services.
This combination allows me to offer ethically grounded, reflective supervision that holds both the depth of therapeutic work and the systemic, organisational, and professional pressures counsellors often navigate.
My supervision practice is informed by the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision, while remaining flexible and relational. Supervision is a space for shared enquiry, where we attend to clinical work, the therapeutic relationship, ethical decision-making, professional development, and use of self. I value reflection, noticing patterns, instinct and intuition, and what emerges within the supervisory relationship.
I am particularly interested in the relational and honest aspects of supervision, creating a safe, supportive, and collaborative space where curiosity, learning, and integrity are central. I bring awareness of identity, burnout, vicarious trauma, and the impact of unsupported mental health within wider systems, supporting supervisees to explore both the seen and unseen layers of their work.
My supervisory style is warm, reflective, ethical, and human. I believe supervision works best when we meet each other as we are ,present, curious, and willing to evolve together.
You are welcome to come to supervision just as you are, and we can begin from there.
Practice description
Supervision Approach
I have over 15 years’ experience as a counsellor and more than 20 years working within the helping professions, alongside roles involving leadership, service delivery, and responsibility for others’ clinical work. These experiences shape how I supervise: grounded, relational, and realistic about the pressures of practice.
My role as a supervisor is to be safe, interested, and non-judgemental. I aim to offer a space where supervisees can think openly about their work, including uncertainty, ethical dilemmas, emotional impact, and professional development, without fear of being assessed or performed at.
I work with supervisees at different stages of practice who may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected, or who are navigating identity, belonging, confidence, or complexity in their therapeutic work. I have particular sensitivity to work involving anxiety, trauma, relational dynamics, and the emotional weight that can accompany sustained caring roles.
My supervision is relational and reflective, supporting supervisees to explore both clinical material and use of self, alongside the wider systems and contexts they work within. My intention is not to provide answers, but to support supervisees to reconnect with their own thinking, professional authority, and capacity.
Alongside supervision, I am also a practising counsellor and EMDR practitioner, and I currently work with children & young people aged 12+ and adults, which helps keep my supervision grounded in current clinical realities.
I believe supervision works best when we meet each other as we are , curious, thoughtful, and willing to evolve.
My first session
What Your First Supervision Session Might Look Like
Before starting supervision, I offer a brief no-fee introductory call. This gives us the chance to get a sense of one another and decide whether working together feels like a good fit. It’s a space for you to ask questions about my supervision approach and for me to check that I can offer the experience and support you’re looking for.
If we agree to proceed, the first supervision session will focus on getting to know you and your practice. We’ll look at your current work, the context you are practising within, any requirements around contracts or ethical frameworks, and what you hope for from supervision. We’ll also begin to shape a supervision agreement that feels clear, ethical, and supportive.
The pace is gentle and collaborative. You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out , the first session is about creating a safe, reflective foundation for our work together.
