About me and my therapy practice
Hello and Welcome. My name is Andy and I approach every client with positivity, compassion, and patience. While we may begin as strangers, it won't take long to build trust and develop a meaningful working relationship.
Over the past 22 years in Mental Health, my experience has been diverse, spanning front-line NHS services, the voluntary sector, and international humanitarian organisations. For the last nine years, I have focused particularly on supporting women and children dealing with abuse, trauma, discrimination, and relationship difficulties, often in difficult and demanding situations.
At the core of my practice is acceptance and respect—I believe you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to support you as you explore your choices, feelings, and possibilities.
It takes courage and determination to work towards a more fulfilling, happier life. If you are ready to take that first step, I am here to support and empower you.
Practice description
How does it work?
When you reach out, we'll have a conversation to explore the support you're looking for and help you determine if I'm the right therapist for you. From there, we can arrange an initial session or assessment.
There will be no obligation to continue with sessions after our first initial assessment session, it is important for you to decide if you feel comfortable and wish to work with me.
Each session lasts 50 minutes and takes place weekly at the same time and day. Due to availability, I’m currently unable to offer fortnightly sessions for new clients. The fee for each session is £70.00.
My first session
The first session is a blend of an initial consultation and an assessment. It’s an opportunity for you to share more about what’s going on for you and the reasons you’re seeking therapy. If you have specific goals in mind, we can begin exploring them together. I’ll ask a few questions to better understand your needs, and you’ll get a sense of how it feels to work with me.
We won’t rush into deep exploration right away, it’s important to build a strong therapeutic relationship so you feel comfortable delving into things at your own pace.
Towards the end of the session, you can decide whether I’m the right therapist for you and how you’d like to proceed. You may choose to work long-term, open-ended, or for a set number of sessions—whatever feels right for you.
