About me and my therapy practice

There can be times in life when you or your child may feel overwhelmed, struggling to cope with stress, anxiety, depression or trauma. Sometimes feeling alone and stuck with difficult thoughts and feelings - maybe not feeling comfortable discussing things with friends and family.

Counselling can help.

It can help you to see things from a different perspective, find clarity, feel less alone, and discover the resilience and courage to move on.

I am a Person-Centred Counsellor and Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I have over 12 years experience working with adults, children and young people in schools and private practice. In both settings I have enjoyed working with many clients who have a range of neurodivergencies.

I have experience working with transgender clients, both young people and adults, and provide a safe affirmative space to explore gender identity.

I offer one to one counselling in a safe, confidential space.

Finding the right counsellor for you is very important. As a person centred therapist, I believe that the relationship between us is the key. We will work at your pace, I will never tell you what to do or who to be. You already have this knowledge. By exploring things sensitively together, deepening your understanding of yourself, the aim is that you will begin to feel more clarity, and feel supported in whatever choices you make and actions you take.

By listening deeply, understanding your experience, and exploring the world from your perspective, I walk alongside you as together we find the right path. The path may lead you to make changes, to acceptance, to deeper understanding of yourself, and to living your life in a way that truly reflects who you want to be.

When working with children and young people, working at their pace and making sure they feel safe and listened to is vital. The sessions are often constructed around their interests and feelings are explored at a pace they are comfortable with.

Practice description

Currently I work face to face from my home in Lee, and am also happy to work remotely (Zoom, FaceTime, telephone)

We will find the best way of working that suits you. As an artist I often work creatively with my clients, using imagery to help explore what's going on for you. I provide materials for drawing or painting if that is right for you, but have also worked with many clients who prefer to work without images.

I aim to provide a safe supportive environment in which to develop a trusting relationship, one in which you will be heard with respect and without judgement. We will work together to explore any troubles or concerns, and towards a place in which you feel less 'stuck' and are able to move forwards.

My first session

If you feel we would work well together please contact me by email and we can book an introductory session. This first session will be an opportunity for you to talk through your concerns and find out how I work, and a chance for me to find out a bit about what’s going on for you. We can talk about how we might work together and you can decide if I am the right therapist for you.

I also offer a free introductory 20 minute phone call if you would prefer to make contact before meeting.
