About me and my therapy practice
My name is Cristina Durigon and I am an Integrative Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor working in Victoria/Westminster areas in London as well as online.
I am a 麻豆原创 and UKCP registered psychotherapist and I have extensive experience working with individuals who are living with a wide range of difficulties. I offer short and long term psychotherapy to adults and young people from 18 years old. I work with the Integrative approach and I combine a number of theories in my style to better suit my client鈥檚 needs. My main approaches include Humanistic therapies (Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Person Centre) as well as Psychodynamic and Relational Psychoanalysis.
鈥婭 may use creative arts, imagery work, body work or gestalt experimentation as a way to support growth and self-expression but I will also invite you to explore your past experiences as a way to help you to re-think your current issues. We will actively discuss the relationship between client and therapist as this too, may inform your situation. I believe that the capacity to experience deep feelings, awareness and responsibility are key elements to therapeutic change.
I worked in the NHS as a psychotherapist for almost a decade in primary and secondary care units. I have experience working with a number of clients who suffered a wide range of problems with different levels of complexity. Please see my website for more information 鈥 www.cristinadurigon.com.
Practice description
In person therapy
I offer open ended, long term and short term counselling and psychotherapy in person from my rooms in Victoria/Westminster areas in London as well as online.
Once we agree to work together, we will be meeting in person once a week, every week, for 50 minutes at the same day and time.
It is natural that, when facing emotional difficulties, we will look for immediate relief for our problems. However, long term counselling and psychotherapy would be looking into promote deep changes of relational patterns that may have contributed to current difficulties. Therefore, the work would involve the exploration of feelings and thoughts during a certain period of time.
The weekly sessions promote a safe, structured and predictable environment that allow clients to let down of their familiar defenses and allow them to experience emotions that may be associated with current problems. The capacity to reflect on their own problems and the ability to experience these emotions promote better integration, maturity and a sense of being in control of one's life that may have been elusive in the past.
Online therapy
鈥婳nline therapy is a helpful and useful option to face to face work in case you find difficult to come to the office, if you need extra flexibility to be able to attend appointments or if you need a more cost effective alternative to coming face to face.
I have developed over the last few years (specially from the start of the COVID-19 pandemic) a deep, meaningful, and effective way of working online which enable change just as much as if you were coming face to face.
Once again, I combined several styles such as Gestalt therapy, IFS (Internal Family Systems) and somatic therapy which can be worked with on screen just as effective as if you were coming in person. Attendance would be on a weekly basis as well just as it is with face-to-face therapy.
My first session
If you are considering psychotherapy, please contact me for an initial consultation. This is an opportunity for us to meet, explore the possibility of working together and for you to have a feel of how I work.
In the meantime, we will explore what brought you to therapy and what your expectations are. I will also let you know about my policy on confidentiality, fees, cancellations and appointment times.
This initial meeting carries no obligation on your part. If you decide that I am not the right person to work with you or if I believe that I may not have an specific expertise, I will be happy to refer you to a colleague.

About me and my therapy practice
I offer clinical supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists. I also offer support to mental health workers in the helping profession whose jobs involve caring for clients who are experiencing emotional distress or facing difficult life circumstances.
Supervision is a space where the therapist, with the help of the supervisor, will endeavour to attend to the therapist鈥檚 clinical work allowing the latter to reflect, make sense and find different alternatives in their interactions with clients.
Supervision is a super-vision (Gaie Houston, Supervision and Counselling, 1995) a space that allows the therapist to have a better 鈥渧iew鈥 of what they are doing. The hope is that, by the end of each session, supervisees will have enlarged the range of possible interventions available to them and will have diffused the emotions that may have arisen by the work with the client.
I provide relational and integrative supervision and my main approaches are the psychodynamic, gestalt and the person-centred perspectives. I also have a breadth of knowledge of other therapeutic perspectives and my aim is to find a common language with supervisees so we can work together even if our therapeutic approaches are not exactly the same.
I have experience working with individuals and groups and I have worked as a clinical supervisor within the third sector as well as the NHS.
I am particularly interested in helping students to develop their skills so they can achieve different levels of development until they find themselves ready to find jobs or to start their own private practices.
