About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Elaine. I’m an accredited member of the Â鶹Դ´ and have been working as a counsellor for over ten years. I care deeply about the work I do and about offering a thoughtful, fair, and respectful therapeutic space where people feel heard, valued, and understood.
I work in an integrative way, drawing from psychodynamic, humanistic, and cognitive behavioural approaches. At the heart of my work is a person-centred philosophy. I believe that each individual is the expert in their own life, and my role is to walk alongside you as you make sense of your experiences and discover what feels right for you.
I aim to create a calm, compassionate, and non-judgemental environment where you can explore whatever has brought you to counselling, at your own pace. I am committed to providing an inclusive and equal service, and I work with people from all backgrounds and life experiences.
I believe counselling can be an empowering process. My hope is to support you in reconnecting with yourself, building resilience, and finding ways to live more fully and authentically — even in the face of difficulty, change, or uncertainty.
I offer both short-term and longer-term counselling online and by telephone.
Practice description
I support people with a wide range of experiences, including (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, bereavement, including bereavement by suicide, trauma, abuse, eating issues and obesity issues, relationship and family difficulties, work-related stress, and issues connected to identity such as LGBTQI+ experiences, race, neurodiversity, and disability. I approach all work with care, sensitivity, and respect for each individual’s lived experience.
I am also available for counsellors who are seeking personal therapy or supervision. I am a Clinical Supervisor and have completed the CPCAB Level 6 qualification in Therapeutic Supervision.
My supervision profile can be found on the Â鶹Դ´ website via /profile/1895b0cb-4d90-e711-80e8-3863bb351d40
My first session
I offer a free fifteen-minute introductory call, giving you the opportunity to ask questions about counselling and how I work. This space allows us both to get a sense of whether working together feels like the right fit for you.
