About me and my therapy practice
Choosing to come to therapy can be a huge step and a bit scary.
It doesn't mean you're mentally ill, just brave enough to try and resolve your issues. I'm here to help & support you on your journey.
We all have times when life becomes overwhelming, and having someone who will not judge you, or have their own agenda can really ease our minds, reducing stress, and giving a sense of hope and optimism.
If you do have questions or concerns about coming to therapy and how it works, please feel free to telephone me. Finding the right therapist is so important.
We have an initial session to see how things go and how you feel. There is no obligation for you to continue afterwards
I have been a therapist for 30 years.
My first session
Once we have agreed on meeting for our initial session, we can start to get to know each other. It is vital that you feel safe, heard and supported. There is no judgement of your issues.
We complete an information form so I can start to understand more about your issue(s). This gives us a place to start from
We set a day for you to contact me if you would like to continue our work together. Always best to reflect before making such an important decision. If you want to continue, contact me and we can book our next session.

About me and my therapy practice
I have been a Counsellor for over 25 years, and a Supervisor for over 15.
I tend to work in what I euphemistically call a constructively intuitive way. Which means as long as the boundaries are observed, I encourage and support the way you want to work and develop your Practice authentically.
Having been a Therapist for so long I have learnt a lot from CPD, and from my experiences with clients.
I have run 3 Youth Counselling Agencies in the past.
Practice description
Supervision is vital to all us at every level of knowledge and experience. It helps ensure our work with clients is clear and our own issues aren't clouding our reactions and feelings towards our clients. There are some situations that can be difficult to handle and having a Supervisor to turn to for support is extremely useful (I speak from my own experience!).
My first session
I prefer the initial contact to be on the phone/Zoom so we can begin to get a sense of each other.
Assuming that goes well, and we decide to meet for an initial session, you can bring your client (s) or, if you are starting a new placement or position, and have concerns.
There is no obligation to continue. I will ask you to take a few days to to think about it, and ring me by a specified day if you want to continue.
