About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Sharon. I have extensive experience in working as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, helping clients navigate their emotions thoughts and behaviours. Working with such issues as complex childhood trauma, relationship and family dynamics, with a particular interest in the mother-daughter relationship. I offer warmth and empathy in a safe, non-judgemental space, where you are free to explore and be yourself.
I work with adults, couples, young people and families, while offering both short-term and long-term therapy. I also offer support with, anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, and confidence, self-harm, bereavement and loss, neuro-diversity, discovering your identity along with many other challenges.
As a practitioner, I work collaboratively with you as the client, where I will be alongside you in your journey, when together we can explore the issues that have bought you to therapy. If it's an immediate crisis or and long term struggle, or if you are just finding it difficult to move forward.
At the heart of our work together is the therapeutic alliance, the relationship that forms between us, so that we can explore together those issues and difficulties that present themselves as challenges in your life. Helping your personal growth, to feel empowered and more robust, with stronger emotional resilience and self-worth.
I have a BA Hons in Integrative Counselling, a HE Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and I am a qualified Clinical Supervisor.
I have over thirty years experience of working in education, including SEN and children's and families social care.
I attend CPD workshops and seminars to continue with my learning.
Practice description
My way of working, is to use a psychodynamic approach to therapy which addresses looking at those deep rooted issues, that may be influencing how you respond to life today. Whilst, blending techniques from other modalities, such as CBT, Gestalt and Solution focused therapy, or using a more creative approach such as, art work, or visualation. This allows the flexibility to respond sensitively to each client's unique set of circumstances and experiences.
I work face to face with clients at my practice room situated in a converted garage office, at the front of my property with plenty of free parking. In the beautiful village of Brockham.
I offer sessions via the online platforms of Zoom, Teams or WhatsApp of by phone if clients prefer.
My first session
It is very important that you find a counsellor that is right for you. I therefore offer a free initial 20 minute consultation, either by phone or Zoom. Which gives you a chance to ask me any questions and share what brings you to therapy.
Then if you feel I am the right counsellor for you we can schedule ongoing weekly or fortnightly sessions.
Counselling sessions for individuals, are £60 per 50 mins session, with concessions available, offered on a sliding scale, based on individual circumstances.

About me and my therapy practice
As a Supervisor I believe supervision should offer an enriching and stimulating experience, with creative exploration, where knowledge and understanding are shared in a collaborative manner.
I aim to offer a supportive and safe environment, be open and honest in an encouraging way and be proactive in providing insight.
My theoretical approach to supervision is guided by the framework of Hawkins and Shohet's seven eyed model, a reflective and relational approach, workable with any counselling or psychoanalytical modality.
At present, alongside private practice I supervise trainee therapists at a large London agency and an entity where staff are working with young people, offering both group and one to one supervision.
I have created an affordable counselling service at two Children's Centres and a Mental Health Trust. Therefore, can help with the setting up of such projects.
For the past twenty-five years I have worked in either education or families and children's social care, where I have gained experience which enhances the work
