About me and my therapy practice
My clients and I work together to resolve a wide range of issues connected with trust, intimacy, affairs (virtual & real), conflict (hot & cold), parenting, extended families........etc.
I am a specialist online couple counsellor working with clients across the world who are focused on building a more resilient relationship that recovers and gets stronger.
I work online as my clients typically have busy private and work lives that can span more than one country and culture. We often use the time differences to ease the challenge of scheduling sessions to fit in with family and work life.
My clients only pay for the first session; after that, they only pay if they choose to continue working with me. In this way, you can be sure that you both feel comfortable working with me. You select the hourly rate you pay between £40 and £140. I do it this way as it's hard to be sure how many sessions will be required, and the actual cost of the counselling mustn't add to the issues you are already experiencing. I never question the rate my clients choose.
Practice description
Working with couples in an ethical and effective way requires fundamentally different training and experience to that required for individual work. With a post graduate qualification (MA) in Relationship Therapy and over fifteen years' experience couples find my approach engaging, practical and effective (see below), read more Client Experiences on my website: www.onlinecouplecounselling.com
"We had attended couple counselling before, our experience with Andrew was different, we feel so much more confident and optimistic about our future together! We gained new relationship skills and self-awareness through Andrew's straightforward tools and concepts that we applied between sessions and continue to use. His genuine commitment to making us experts in our relationship has empowered us to resolve issues independently. The value we received in terms of improvements in our relationship, as well as in our wider personal and professional lives, is beyond our expectations. Thank you."
As an accredited couple counsellor who has also developed tools and concepts, being used by other professionals around the world, I have devoted myself to helping couples through one of the most difficult periods of their lives.
You only pay for the first session if you choose to continue to work with me. I do it that way as I think its so important to make sure you sense there is a good fit between each one of you and me. Trying before buying is the best way to achieve that imo.
Do get in contact if you have any questions.
My first session
Session 1:
We do two things:
• You each answer the following question: If it were our last session and we were talking about how your relationship had changed, what would you hope to say?
• You start to learn how to use the Rainbow Map tool to develop your Reflective/Reactive Brain/Body self-awareness, which provides a foundation for the rest of our work together.
Homework: Use the Rainbow Map and learn more about the jargon-free Reflective/Reactive Brain/Body model on which it is based.
Session 2
We review the Reflective/Reactive Brain/Body model, your self-awareness progress, and fine-tune your Rainbow Maps.
Following that, we will develop a genogram to describe your family structure.
Your homework is to read a short piece on resources and reconditioning and to continue improving your Reflective/Reactive Brain/Body self-awareness.
Session 3
We review your self-awareness progress. It is not uncommon for clients to start experimenting with resource refinement and generation by this time.
Sessions 4-7
We proceed carefully from less to more sensitive issues, guided by your heightened capacity for self-awareness, resource generation, and activation.
Review your original Best Hopes from the first session to refine and add to them based on the relationship-oriented conversations you are having during and between sessions.
If some issues prove difficult to resolve, we would discuss whether engaging in the Legacy Behaviour and Values Experience might be helpful. This typically adds three to six additional sessions to the work we do together.
Sessions 8-15
Moving toward one to two sessions per month, then once every three months, before ending our work together. These sessions focus on how your self-awareness, resources and outcomes cycle can be fine-tuned and become an ingrained aspect of your relationship.
