About me and my therapy practice
There are moments in everyone´s lives where we could do with some extra support.
Just as we would visit a medical doctor to help heal our physical ailments, at times in order to thrive we need to work on our psychological wellbeing too.
I work in a confidential, warm, respectful way to ensure that clients (16+), feel safe in their sessions as I believe one of the key conditions for positive change is the quality of the relationship between client and therapist.
As a Senior Accredited Â鶹Դ´ therapist, I draw on my extensive NHS & private practice experience as a fully qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor, EMDR Therapist and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (CBT), I work with clients via weekly sessions to explore and understand the difficulty that’s troubling them, then together we work to find a more helpful way forward that is sustainable longer term.
I work both online and face to face offering weekly & fortnightly sessions (if agreed clinically appropriate).
I run face-to-face clinics as part of the therapeutic team at Moor Therapy, 180a Heaton Moor Road, Stockport, Cheshire, SK4 4DU. A short walk from Heaton Chapel Station.
My therapeutic style is Integrative, which utilises a variety of psychotherapeutic styles and techniques that are adapted to suit your needs.
Examples of issues I may support clients with:
Anxiety, depression, low self-esteem/lack of confidence, relationship issues, attachment and loss, sexual orientation, anger, panic, gender identity, trauma, work/career issues, mortality/bereavement, sexual function, health anxiety, life changes/events, OCD, men’s issues.
I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community and am Gender, Sexual & Relationship Diversity (GSRD) affirmative in my practice.
I offer a no-cost 20-25 minute initial contact chat before committing to therapy. I am also able to accept clients who have policies with BUPA. My current session fees are £65 for both face to face and online therapy.
Best wishes,
Steve.

I am able to offer online supervision on a fortnightly or monthly basis between 8am-4pm weekdays. Please contact me to find out my current availability.
About me and my therapy practice
In addition to working as a therapist I offer integrative clinical supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists in a warm, reflective, and curious space — a place where you can think about your work thoughtfully and with openness.
Supervision, for me, is relational and collaborative. Just as I describe therapy as a partnership where we explore what is troubling and look for sustainable ways forward, supervision is a similar reflective process for practitioners. It’s an opportunity to notice what’s going on in your clinical work — the patterns, the emotional impact, and the relational nuances that often sit beneath the surface.
I aim to create an environment where you can bring your work with honesty and explore it with curiosity — without fear of judgment — and where both support and challenge are present in service of growth, clarity and ethical practice. I believe attention to the relational and emotional experience in supervision enriches your capacity to think with your clients more deeply.
I draw on my extensive experience as a psychodynamic counsellor, EMDR therapist and CBT psychotherapist, including work across NHS, charity and private settings. I supervise both trainee and qualified therapists, and I’m comfortable working with complexity, ethical dilemmas, boundary questions, and the emotional impact of clinical work. I have also undertaken a qualification in supervision with the British Psychological Society and am fully insured as a supervisor.
My supervision includes:
- Space for reflection on clinical work and its impact
- Exploration of relational themes and patterns
- Ethical thinking and professional decision-making
- Developmental support for confidence and professional identity
Supervision can be tailored to your needs and is offered both online and in person. I work in line with professional ethical frameworks and invite you to contact me to discuss whether working together feels like a good fit.
