Practice description
I practice an integrative approach, primarily drawing from psychodynamic and systemic therapies, complemented by person-centred work and CBT. This allows me to tailor our sessions to your unique needs and circumstances.
My therapeutic approach:
- Psychodynamic therapy - exploring how past experiences shape current patterns
- Systemic therapy - understanding issues within relationship and family contexts
- CBT - practical strategies for managing thoughts, feelings and behaviours
- Person-centred - following your lead in a supportive, non-directive way
I work from a dedicated therapy space at my home in Billinge (Wigan/St Helens). The space is designed with your privacy in mind and is accessed separately from the rest of the house.
I specialise in supporting:
- Adults with depression, anxiety, and life transitions
- Couples facing relationship challenges
- Families navigating difficult periods
- Individuals dealing with addictions, including sex addiction
- Those processing trauma, grief, or significant changes
- People with autism seeking therapeutic support
- Young people experiencing various concerns
I offer both face-to-face sessions and online therapy, ensuring accessibility whilst maintaining the same high standard of professional, confidential care.
My first session
Your first appointment is a chance for us both to understand if we can work well together. There's no pressure - it's simply an opportunity to meet and explore how I might support you.
What happens in our first meeting:
I'll invite you to share what's brought you to therapy, listening carefully without judgment. You can talk about current difficulties, background context, or whatever feels most important to you right now.
Together we'll explore:
- What you're hoping to achieve through therapy
- Any previous therapy experience and what was helpful
- Practical questions about frequency, duration, and expectations
- How my approach might address your particular concerns
- No paperwork or assessments.
Practical arrangements:
- £50 an hour
- 1 or 2 hour sessions
- Located in Billinge, Wigan (WN5 7LD)
- Online sessions also available
- Flexible appointment times including some evenings
- No commitment or hidden costs
Moving forward:
At the end of our session, we'll discuss whether you'd like to continue. There's no obligation - some people need time to reflect, others prefer to book their next appointment straight away. Both approaches are perfectly fine.
Most clients find the first session reassuring and leave feeling more hopeful about making positive changes. My role is to provide a safe space where you feel heard, understood, and supported from day one.
