About me and my therapy practice
I offer fifty minute counselling sessions or in some cases longer for specific CBT interventions as required. Sessions can be at a frequency that suits you and your budget, can be in person, online on Zoom or Teams or on the telephone or a mix of these. I work in a person centred way using a relational approach to counselling or for those looking for shorter term more targeted therapy for anxiety, panic, depression or low mood I offer twelve to twenty sessions of CBT.
Practice description
I am a Registered Âé¶¹Ô´´ therapist with over seventeen years of experience. Trained originally in integrative and relational counselling I have gone on to qualify as an NLP practitioner and coach and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT). I have many years of experience working with adults and young people in a variety of settings and from a wide range of backgrounds. I offer a warm facilitated space for people to explore their experiences in a confidential and non judgemental interactive way. Issues I can support with include depression and low mood, anxiety, panic, anger, loss and grief, pain, feelings of loneliness or isolation, career or relationship challenges or changes, parenthood or family issues. I do not currently work with couples or groups.
I offer an initial call to discuss a bit more about what you are looking for and if we feel I might be suitable to support you, we would then organise an initial session.
My first session
In the initial session we further explore how you are feeling currently, what has brought you to seek support at this time, and what you would like to achieve from therapy. I will run through a short measures/symptoms form with you. We can then discuss the most appropriate modality, talking therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, coaching or an integrated approach drawing on these as and when useful. We will also agree frequency of sessions in our first session.
