About me and my therapy practice

For 14 years I have been a full time Psychotherapist, Family Practitioner, Clinical Supervisor, NVR parenting programme lead and accredited member of the Â鶹ԭ´´ (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and member of AFT (Association of Family Therapy). I base my practice on working with the internal world of the client to facilitate personal growth and reach their goals. I am able to adapt my knowledge in different theoretical approaches to meet my clients presenting issues. Together client and therapist can identify triggers to negative thoughts, unhelpful narratives and relationship/ family cycles which may be effecting the here and now. I believe in understanding what motivates our behaviour rather than treating it without the understanding of why it manifested. My systemic training enables me to work with family based issues both past and present.

My face to face work is based in Dulwich and I also work online. I keep my therapeutic knowledge up to date revolving with world around me.

I have taught counselling students in their 1st year of counselling training but now I privately supervise trainees. I am a published author. You can find my published papers on the Â鶹ԭ´´ website and within AFT context magazine. I supervisee a number of charities and school offering mental health support.

About me and my therapy practice

I have been through it myself and I have helped a lot of other therapists through it too. When setting up in private practice there is a lot to think about, insurance, room hire, what to charge, how to handle cancellations, building a website, getting listed in the right directories, finding the right accountant, where to get CPD, the list is endless.

Then there is the emotional and ethical stuff that matters just as much. How do you set boundaries when there is no organisation backing you up? How do you cope when a client disappears without paying? What do you do when you have not had a referral in three weeks and you start wondering if you made a terrible mistake?

I can help with all of it. Not because I have a neat formula, but because I have lived it and I have watched dozens of therapists navigate it. You do not need to figure it out on your own.

A Bit About Me

I am a Â鶹ԭ´´ accredited psychotherapist, family practitioner, and therapeutic supervisor. I hold membership with AFT, ACAMH, and BICA. I have published papers on the Â鶹ԭ´´ website and in the AFT Context magazine. Over the years I have held supervision contracts with local authorities and charities, supervised trainees from several training schools, and delivered CPCAB counselling courses. I have been a tutor, a clinician, and a supervisor, sometimes all in the same week.

if you want someone who will genuinely engage with your work, push you when you need pushing, support you when you need holding, and occasionally make you laugh when it has all been a bit much, then we should talk.

I work with therapists in private practice, charities, schools and local authority settings. I welcome all modalities. Supervision is available online and in person.
