About me and my therapy practice

I am Claire, a fully qualified and registered Counselling Psychotherapist and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MÂ鶹ԭ´´).

My role as a therapist is to provide a safe, supportive and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and personal challenges. Together, we can consider what you are experiencing and explore how you can best be supported throughout this stage of your journey.

My counselling approach is primarily person-centred, placing you and your individual needs at the heart of the therapeutic process. Where appropriate, I can also incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques and tools as part of an integrated approach.

I aim to work collaboratively with each client, recognising that everyone is different. My goal is to understand your individual needs, experiences and circumstances, and to explore the approach and support that is most appropriate and beneficial for you.

Practice description

I offer face-to-face appointments and support clients with a broad range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. I have over sixteen years of experience working with children and young people; I regularly support individuals with Autism, ADHD, anxiety, low mood and difficulties with self-esteem. I also work with young people experiencing family difficulties, particularly where they may struggle to feel safe in relationships, establish healthy boundaries, develop meaningful connections or build trust with others.

I have a particular interest in exploring how our experiences and relationships can shape the ways in which we relate to others throughout our lives. Sometimes, patterns of behaviour, communication and relationships can repeat across different relationships, within families and, in some circumstances, across generations. Understanding these patterns can provide valuable insight and create opportunities for positive change.

My approach is collaborative and goal-oriented, with empathy, compassion and respect at the heart of the therapeutic relationship. I work alongside each client to understand their individual experiences, identify their needs and develop realistic goals that support their personal growth and wellbeing.
