About me and my therapy practice
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel genuinely daunting. Scrolling through endless profiles, trying to decode professional jargon, and reaching out to a stranger to talk about deeply personal things can feel awkward, overwhelming, and vulnerable. If you are hesitant about having that initial conversation, please know that is a completely normal place to start.
My goal is to make that process as simple and reassuring as possible. My practice is grounded in a warm, person-centred framework, meaning our work begins entirely with where you are right now. I offer a confidential, non-judgmental space where you can speak openly and explore your experiences at a pace that feels safe for you.
While my core approach is deeply relational and client-led, I work integratively. With an MSc in Psychology and a PGDip in Counselling & Psychotherapy, my work is backed by solid clinical theory and academic rigour. My background as a qualified yoga teacher and training in neurofeedback also informs my understanding of the mind-body connection - how stress, anxiety, and trauma affect not just our thoughts, but our physical nervous systems and how we experience the world.
Alongside my training, I bring rich life experience, grounded maturity, and deep empathy for those navigating complex caring roles, life transitions, or feeling burnt out by daily pressures.
Finding the right therapist is about finding someone you feel comfortable with. I offer individual sessions both online and in-person, and I welcome an initial, no-pressure conversation to help you decide if working together feels like the right fit for you.
Practice description
What to Expect from Working Together
Choosing to start therapy is a significant decision, and knowing what to expect can help ease those initial nerves. Whether we meet online or in person, my aim is to offer a consistent, grounded, and welcoming space where you can set down the weight you’ve been carrying.
Our Initial Conversation
Our work begins with a short initial, low-pressure consultation. This is a chance for us to talk through what brings you to therapy, what you hope to get out of it, and any questions you might have. Most importantly, it gives you a sense of how it feels to talk with me so you can decide if I am the right fit for you.
How Sessions Work
Sessions last 50 minutes and are client-led, meaning you set the pace and decide what we focus on each week. Depending on what you need, our time together might involve:
- Unpacking current stressors, relationship dynamics, or life transitions.
- Exploring underlying patterns, thoughts, and emotional responses.
- Incorporating gentle somatic awareness to help ground your nervous system if you are feeling anxious, burnt out, or overwhelmed.
Online & In-Person Options
In-Person Sessions: Held in a quiet, comfortable, and dedicated therapeutic space designed to feel private and safe.
Online Sessions: Conducted via a secure, confidential video platform, allowing you to access therapy from the comfort and convenience of your own home.
Whether you are looking for short-term support during a specific challenge or longer-term exploratory therapy, we will review our progress regularly to ensure you feel supported and heard every step of the way.
