About me and my therapy practice
I believe that meaningful change happens when we understand ourselves with honesty, curiosity and compassion, while also taking responsibility for the life we want to create.
My approach is collaborative and tailored to you. Rather than following a rigid formula, I draw from a range of evidence based therapeutic approaches, including person centred therapy, trauma informed practice, EMDR, attachment theory and coaching psychology, depending on your needs and goals.
Together we will explore not only what is happening in your life today, but also the experiences, relationships and beliefs that may be shaping how you think, feel and respond. We will work to understand recurring patterns, process difficult emotions, challenge unhelpful ways of thinking, and develop practical strategies that help you move forward with greater confidence and clarity.
I aim to provide a warm, honest and supportive space where you feel able to speak openly without fear of judgement. At the same time, I believe therapy should gently challenge us when needed. Insight is important, but lasting change often comes from putting that insight into practice, so where appropriate I may suggest exercises, reflections or small actions between sessions to help reinforce the work we do together.
I work with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, low self esteem, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship difficulties and feelings of being stuck or overwhelmed. I also support individuals who want to improve their emotional resilience, strengthen their relationships, or better understand themselves.
Whether you are looking to heal from the past, navigate a current challenge or build a more fulfilling future, my aim is to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, reconnect with what matters most to you, and create lasting, meaningful change.
Practice description
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and many people come to their first session unsure where to begin. You do not need to have everything figured out before we meet. We will work together to understand what has brought you here, what you would like to change, and what feels most important to you.
I offer a calm, supportive and collaborative space where you can speak openly and honestly. My aim is to help you feel understood while also encouraging the kind of reflection and challenge that leads to meaningful, lasting change. Every person is different, so I adapt my approach to suit your individual needs, personality and goals.
Many of the people I work with feel stuck in recurring patterns, struggle with anxiety or low self esteem, carry the effects of difficult past experiences, or find themselves facing challenges in their relationships. Together we explore not only the symptoms you are experiencing, but also the underlying beliefs, emotions and experiences that may be keeping those difficulties in place.
Alongside talking therapy, I may draw on approaches such as EMDR where appropriate, helping clients process traumatic or distressing experiences. I also believe therapy should extend beyond the therapy room where helpful, so I may suggest practical exercises, reflections or resources between sessions to support your progress.
Above all, I want therapy to feel like a place where you can be yourself without judgement, gain a deeper understanding of who you are, and leave each session with greater clarity, self trust and confidence in your ability to move forward.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and decide whether we feel we are a good fit to work together.
We’ll explore what has brought you to therapy, your current difficulties, any relevant background, and what you hope to achieve from our work together. I’ll also ask some questions about your personal history, relationships and wellbeing to help build an initial understanding of your experiences.
There is no pressure to share everything in the first session. We will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
I’ll explain how I work, answer any questions you may have, and together we’ll discuss whether my approach feels right for your needs. If we decide to continue, we’ll begin to identify the goals and direction for our work together.
The first session is charged at a reduced fee of £70. No formal assessment forms are required before we meet.
