About me and my therapy practice

Life can feel overwhelming, leaving you anxious, stuck, or disconnected. Whether you're dealing with difficult experiences, relationship struggles, loss, chronic health issues, or something just doesn’t feel right, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

I aim to provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can explore your feelings without pressure. Together, we can understand your experiences, recognise patterns, and find paths forward that resonate with you.

As an integrative counsellor with a BA (Hons) in Counselling and the Psychotherapeutic Relationship, my approach is grounded in person-centred values and informed by psychodynamic thinking.

I have experience helping adults and young people with anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and the emotional impact of chronic health conditions. I also support survivors of sexual and domestic abuse.

If you seek support for current challenges or past experiences, I will work with you at a pace that feels manageable, fostering a deeper understanding of yourself and your needs.

Practice description

As an integrative counsellor, I hold person-centred values at the heart of my practice. Our therapeutic relationship is important to me, and I want you to feel heard, respected and able to be yourself without fear of judgement.

I also draw on psychodynamic thinking, which allows us to gently explore how earlier experiences and relationships may be influencing how you feel about yourself, relate to others and experience life today.

My work is trauma-informed, recognising that difficult and traumatic experiences can affect us emotionally, physically and relationally. Where appropriate, I may also incorporate grounding techniques, psychoeducation, body awareness and creative ways of working.

My first session

Reaching out for counselling can feel daunting, particularly if you have never experienced therapy before or find it difficult to talk about what you are going through.

Our first session gives us an opportunity to get to know one another. We can explore what has brought you to counselling, what you would like support with and what you hope to gain from therapy. You are also welcome to ask me questions about how I work.

There is no expectation for you to tell me your whole story in the first session. You decide what you feel comfortable sharing, and we will work at your pace.

The first session also gives you an opportunity to experience what it feels like to talk with me and decide whether I feel like the right counsellor for you. Finding someone you feel comfortable with matters, and there is no pressure to continue if you feel that I am not the right fit.

If we decide to work together, we can begin to think about what you would like from counselling and how I can best support you.
