About me and my therapy practice
About Me and My Practice I offer a calm, relational and supportive space where you can explore what you are experiencing without judgement. My practice is grounded in person鈥慶entred counselling, which means the work is led by your needs, your pace and what feels most important to you. Alongside this, I integrate cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)鈥慽nformed interventions, solution鈥慺ocused approaches and practical strategies to help you understand patterns, manage emotions and move toward meaningful change. Many clients come to therapy wanting space to talk and be heard; others prefer structured tools to help with specific challenges. I adapt the way we work so it fits you. This may include exploring thoughts and behaviours, identifying strengths, developing coping strategies, or working through difficult feelings connected to stress, anxiety, bereavement, loss, depression or low mood.My role is to offer a safe, confidential environment where you can speak openly and begin to make sense of your experiences. I do not tell you what to do or push you in a direction that doesn鈥檛 feel right. Instead, we work collaboratively to understand what you are carrying, how it affects you, and what might help you feel more grounded, supported and in control.I have experience working with adults facing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, stress, grief, relationship difficulties, identity questions, trauma, work pressures and periods of low confidence or uncertainty. I also support serving personnel and veterans, offering a 25% discount in recognition of the unique challenges that can arise within military life.Sessions are available in person or online, depending on what suits you best. If you are unsure whether counselling is right for you, you are welcome to reach out. You do not need to arrive with answers simply a willingness to begin.
Practice description
At the moment, I offer counselling online and by telephone, providing a flexible and accessible space where you can talk openly from the comfort of your own environment. Many clients find this helps them feel safer, more relaxed and more able to express what they鈥檙e experiencing without the pressure of being in a therapy room.My practice is built around creating a calm, steady and confidential space where you are listened to with genuine care. You can expect sessions that are grounded in person鈥慶entred counselling, meaning your needs, your pace and your experiences shape the work we do together. Alongside this, I integrate CBT鈥慽nformed interventions and solution鈥慺ocused strategies to help you understand patterns, manage emotions and develop practical tools that support real, meaningful change.Clients often come to me when they feel overwhelmed, stuck or unsure where to begin. I support people with stress and anxiety management, bereavement and loss, depression and low mood, relationship challenges, identity concerns and periods of uncertainty. Whether you want space to talk or structured techniques to help you regain control, we will shape the sessions around what works best for you.You will not be judged, rushed or pushed into anything that doesn鈥檛 feel right. My role is to help you make sense of what you鈥檙e carrying, understand how it affects you, and feel more grounded and supported. Online and telephone counselling can be just as effective as in鈥憄erson work, offering privacy, flexibility and a sense of safety that many clients value. If you鈥檙e considering counselling and want to know what working together might feel like, you鈥檙e welcome to reach out. You don鈥檛 need the perfect words 鈥 just a willingness to begin.
My first session
Your first session with Black Sheep Wellbeing is designed to help you feel comfortable, informed and supported from the start. I keep this session simple and steady so you can get a clear sense of how I work and whether this space feels right for you.
I offer a free 20鈥憁inute consultation online or by telephone. This is a straightforward conversation where we talk about what鈥檚 been happening for you, what you might need from therapy, and any questions you have. You don鈥檛 need to prepare anything or arrive with a detailed story you can speak openly, take your time, and share only what feels manageable.
I don鈥檛 use formal assessments or lengthy questionnaires unless you specifically want a structured approach. Instead, I focus on understanding your needs, your pace, and what will help you feel safe and grounded as we begin. My background in forces, engineering and frontline support means I value clarity, calm communication and creating a space where you don鈥檛 have to 鈥渉old it together鈥.
If we decide to work together, ongoing sessions are 50 minutes. I also offer extended 90鈥憁inute sessions for trauma鈥慺ocused work when appropriate. These longer sessions give us more room for grounding, stabilisation and steady processing without feeling rushed.
During your first full session, we explore what鈥檚 brought you here, what you hope to change or understand, and how we can work together in a way that feels manageable. You set the pace. You choose what we talk about. My role is to support you, guide where helpful, and create a space where you can speak honestly without pressure.
If I don鈥檛 have immediate availability, I鈥檒l let you know clearly and offer a realistic timeframe or alternative support so you鈥檙e not left waiting without direction.
Your first session is simply a starting point a calm, professional introduction to the support you鈥檙e seeking.
