About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Bella and I am an Integrative Counsellor offering a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and supported. I believe that starting therapy is a personal and sometimes difficult step, and I aim to create a safe environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.

My approach is integrative, meaning I draw from different therapeutic approaches to work with you as an individual, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. I believe the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of effective counselling, and I work collaboratively with clients to develop greater self-awareness, understanding and positive change.

Through my counselling training and placement experience, I have supported clients with a range of difficulties including anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, emotional wellbeing, life transitions and experiences of loss or trauma. I have also worked with young adults and students, supporting them through personal challenges, change and times when life feels overwhelming.

I understand that reaching out for counselling can feel daunting, and I aim to offer a space where you can be yourself without judgement. Together, we can explore what has brought you to counselling, make sense of your experiences and work towards a greater sense of balance and wellbeing.

Practice description

My practice offers a calm, confidential and supportive space where you can take time to explore what is happening in your life without judgement or pressure.

I offer online counselling sessions, allowing you to access support from a place where you feel comfortable and at ease. Sessions provide a dedicated space to focus on your thoughts, feelings, experiences and the things that may be impacting your wellbeing.

Counselling is a collaborative process, and we will work together at a pace that feels right for you. Some people come to counselling with a specific issue they would like to explore, while others may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of what they need but know they would like things to feel different.

My aim is to provide a safe and accepting environment where you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself, explore challenges, and work towards positive change.

I offer an initial telephone conversation so we can discuss what has brought you to counselling, answer any questions you may have, and explore whether I might be the right counsellor for you.

My first session

Before our first counselling session, I will ask you to complete a brief assessment form and counselling agreement. This helps me understand a little more about what has brought you to counselling, what you would like support with, and ensures we have a clear understanding of how we will work together.

Our first session is an opportunity for us to meet, discuss what has brought you to counselling, and explore what you would like support with. You do not need to have everything figured out before our first session. We can take time to talk through what is happening for you and what you hope to gain from counselling.

It is also a chance for both of us to consider whether we feel we are a good fit to work together, as feeling comfortable and safe with your counsellor is an important part of the therapeutic process.

I will explain how I work, answer any questions you may have, and we can discuss practical information such as confidentiality, boundaries, and the structure of our sessions.
