About me and my therapy practice

Choosing to start therapy is a significant step, and it comes down to finding the right fit. My approach to psychotherapy is grounded, collaborative, and conversational—specifically designed for men who want to move past feeling stuck, stressed, or overwhelmed. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all model, nor do I rely on clinical, blank-faced silence. Instead, I offer an active partnership where we work together to handle life's challenges head-on.

There is no expectation for you to have everything figured out before you arrive, nor do you need to look for the "right" clinical words. We start exactly where you are. Whether you are navigating a relationship breakdown, dealing with high-pressure work burnout, or struggling with sudden life transitions, my role is to help you unpack those experiences safely, logically, and without judgment.

My practice is integrative, meaning we look closely at the root causes of your distress to understand the "why" (exploring how past experiences shape your current automatic behaviours), while simultaneously developing a practical toolkit for your day-to-day life. This dual-focused approach means you leave sessions with clear, logical tools to help manage pressure and build resilience moving forward.

Practice description

What to expect from our sessions

Our work together functions as a transparent, focused conversation between equals. You bring the reality of your day-to-day experiences, and I bring the psychological framework to help make sense of them.

We focus heavily on clear outcomes and practical progression:

A Collaborative Dynamic: We work side-by-side. I am an active participant in the room, offering feedback, insight, and strategic direction.

A Practical Toolkit: We don't just talk about problems; we look for functional management strategies. We identify manageable action steps to help you regain control over your mindset, routine, and responses.

Paced for Progress: The speed of our work is entirely determined by what is genuinely useful to you. We regularly check in to ensure our sessions remain focused, effective, and directly aligned with the clarity you are looking for.

My first session

Your first session is straightforward and designed to help you settle in comfortably. We will cover:

The Framework: A brief review of the contract and confidentiality guidelines sent to you previously, giving you space to ask any initial questions.

Mapping Out Goals: A conversational assessment of what brought you to therapy and what you want to achieve.

Establishing a Baseline: We will complete a few brief questionnaires to track your progress objectively across our sessions, ensuring you can see measurable improvement as we go.
