About me and my therapy practice
At the heart of my practice is a simple but pretty profound belief: how we connect in the room is what matters most.
I work with a relational approach, which means I show up as a real person in the room with you, staying curious, engaged and honest.
I am a straight-talking therapist who will offer a steady reflection of what I see and feel in our work together.
Our sessions are not about "applying a method" to you, but about a real connection between two individuals.
Within this honest, steady relationship, we work together to explore, uncover and undo what might be holding you back, creating the capacity for you to heal, learn and finally take up your own space.
My path to becoming a therapist was built through a lifetime of navigating high-pressure environments, transitions and personal recovery.
Before moving into psychotherapy, my career spanned the corporate world, from marketing roles and Brand Management for a global skincare company to fifteen years running my own interior design business.
I understand the exhaustion of maintaining an outward image, whether for a brand, a home, or a life, while feeling the intense pressure to succeed and the quiet fear of “failing".
Having navigated my own struggles I know firsthand what it takes to move from shrinking yourself to believing you deserve to take up space.
My life has been defined by change; I have lived abroad, navigated many personal moves and experienced the profound reality of loving and losing.
Today, my life is grounded in simpler, more vital things: being a mother, running my practice and the steady, uncomplicated presence of my beautiful black Labrador.
I bring all of this, along with my warmth, my experience and my focus on our connection into the room with you.
Practice description
In a world full of demands, finding space to unpick your thoughts and make sense of how you feel isn’t a luxury, it’s essential.
Whether you are navigating the profound weight of grief, bereavement and loss (including the complex pain of bereavement by suicide), finding yourself muted by a lack of confidence and low self-esteem, or processing specific women's issues, it isn’t self-indulgent to stop performing for a moment. It’s how you find the capacity to show up for yourself, as well as for the people and the life you care about.
Investing in your own headspace isn’t just for right now. It’s about building a solid foundation for your future.
I am a qualified therapist with an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy, so rather than a "one size fits all" approach, I draw on different therapeutic tools to suit what you actually need.
My practice is relational and humanistic. In plain English, that means I see you as a whole person, not a set of symptoms. We work together as equals, creating a steady environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement.
At the heart of my work is helping you learn how to take up more space. So many of us are used to making ourselves "smaller" - editing our words, managing our emotions for others, or feeling like we have to perform. Whether we are unpicking long-standing patterns or finding practical ways to handle the noise of daily life, my goal is to help you feel more solid in yourself and take ownership of your own life again.
I work on both a short and long-term basis, depending on your needs. We will have regular reviews together to check in on our progress and how you feel the sessions are going, ensuring the work remains focused on what matters most to you.
My first session
How We Work
We start by looking at what brought you here and what you want to work on, not as rigid targets, but as starting points to guide us. My approach is collaborative and flexible, moving at a pace you control.
Every week is different, so depending on what you need, we might:
Focus on the 'here & now': managing immediate stress and getting through the week.
Look a bit deeper: exploring past experiences, relationships and how you tend to react under pressure.
The goal is to find what genuinely works for your life, so you can live in a way that feels sustainable rather than forced.
Areas of Support
While I welcome whatever you bring to the therapy room, I have particular experience supporting clients through:
- Anxiety & overwhelm
- Self-esteem & confidence
- Loneliness & isolation
- Life transitions
- Grief, loss, & bereavement by suicide
Therapy for Men
Only 1/3 of UK therapy clients are men. This isn't because men struggle less, but because of a common myth that you have to be in crisis to seek help, or know exactly what to say to start.
Neither is true. Therapy with me isn’t about diagnosis or labels, it is a private, straightforward space to drop the pressure of having it all sorted.
'Bottling it up' eventually shows up in literal, physical ways: constant muscle tension, headaches, feeling entirely flat or over-working to avoid stress at home. We won’t just talk about feelings for the sake of it. We will work together to look at what is driving the pressure right now, find the underlying causes, and collaborate on a clearer, more manageable way forward.
What I can help with
Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Anger management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Coercive control, Depression, Health related issues, Loss, Menopause, Men's issues, Narcissism, Pet bereavement, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Stress, Women's issues, Work related issues
Types of therapy
Behavioural, CBT, Existential, Humanistic, Integrative, Interpersonal, Person centred, Phenomenological, Relational
Clients I work with
Adults, Older adults
How I deliver therapy
Long term sessions, Long-term face-to-face work, Online therapy, Short term sessions, Short-term face-to-face work
