About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Natalie, a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist offering a thoughtful, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, relationships, and experiences safely and openly.
I believe therapy is a process, a journey taken alongside another person, where you are supported in making sense of yourself, your experiences, and the patterns that may be affecting your life today. I aim to offer a therapeutic relationship grounded in empathy, curiosity, honesty, and respect for your individuality and autonomy.
As a Black therapist, I recognise the importance of cultural awareness, equality, and the impact that identity, race, culture, gender, sexuality, class, disability, and lived experience can have on emotional wellbeing. I work from an intersectional perspective and strive to create a space where all parts of you are welcomed and respected.
Practice description
My approach is psychodynamic, which means we may explore how past experiences, relationships, and unconscious patterns influence your present emotions, behaviours, and relationships.
I understand that beginning therapy can feel vulnerable, particularly when discussing sensitive or deeply personal experiences. I work gently and collaboratively, allowing space for reflection at a pace that feels manageable for you. I believe meaningful therapeutic work develops through feeling heard, understood, and accepted without judgment.
I value openness and authenticity within the therapeutic relationship and aim to support you in developing a deeper understanding of yourself, your emotional world, and your relationships with others
I am committed to providing an inclusive therapeutic space where your autonomy, identity, and lived experiences are respected.
My practice is grounded in equality, anti-oppressive values, and an awareness of the social and systemic factors that can impact mental health and wellbeing. I welcome people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, identities, and communities.
My first session
I start with an assessment session, this is 90 minuites, in which the aim is to find out more about you and your life experiences. It is an opportunity for us to think together about what has brought you to therapy and what you may hope for from the process. After this session I will contact you and let you know the next steps.
