About me and my therapy practice
Reaching out for therapy isn't always easy, and you may be here because something in your life currently feels difficult, overwhelming, or simply isn't working in the way you'd like. Whatever brings you here, therapy offers a space where you can slow down, feel heard, and we can begin to make sense of your experiences.
Often, the ways we have learned to cope or protect ourselves have helped us get through difficult times but those same patterns can sometimes leave us feeling stuck and disconnected from ourselves and others. Our relationships, both past and present, can shape how we think, feel, and relate to the world around us. As we develop a deeper understanding of these influences, it often becomes easier to process painful experiences, challenge beliefs that no longer serve us, and discover new ways of relating.
My aim is to offer a thoughtful, collaborative relationship where you feel accepted and supported. I work with curiosity, openness, and compassion, aiming to help strengthen your sense of self while helping you find your own way forward.
I welcome clients from all backgrounds, cultures, beliefs, genders, and sexual orientations. I have experience supporting people with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, trauma, bereavement, life transitions, identity, belonging, discrimination, and women's issues.
Practice description
I am qualified Â鶹Դ´ and BCA registered adult psychodynamic psychotherapist. I offer I offer short term (12 weeks) and open ended therapy, both face to face and online, guided by the Â鶹Դ´ Ethical Framework.
Alongside my private practice, I work in a university setting, providing therapeutic support to postgraduate international students. I also have experience working with bereaved adults and supporting people of all ages with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
My work is grounded in psychodynamic psychotherapy. Together, we take time to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences, helping to make sense of the emotional and relational patterns that may be influencing your life.
I offer therapy both in English and Czech.
My first session
Beginning therapy can be daunting, which is why I provide a free 20-minute phone conversation prior to your initial session.
Our work together usually begins with an initial consultation. This first meeting provides an opportunity to explore what has brought you to therapy, begin to understand your experiences, and think together about what you hope to achieve.
In some situations, it may be helpful to arrange a second consultation. Taking a little more time can allow us to develop a fuller understanding of your needs and consider together whether we feel we can work well together before deciding on the most appropriate way forward.
