About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Iona, a counsellor and psychotherapist offering therapy in South West London, in person and online. I know that taking the first step towards therapy isn't always easy, and my aim is to help you feel comfortable from the very beginning.
I am committed to providing a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you feel safe to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.
Whether you're facing a specific challenge or simply feel that something isn't quite right, I'm here to support you. Together, we'll work towards gaining a deeper understanding of your experiences and finding a way forward.
If you'd like to find out more, or simply see whether I'm the right therapist for you, you're welcome to get in touch for a free introductory telephone call.
Practice description
Every person's experiences are unique, so I tailor therapy to your individual needs. Drawing from person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT-informed approaches, we'll work together in a way that best supports you. This might involve exploring how your past experiences shape the present, developing practical strategies for everyday challenges, or simply having the space to reflect and make sense of what you're going through.
At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I believe meaningful therapy begins with building a safe, trusting relationship where you feel heard, understood and accepted. From there, we can explore your experiences, recognise patterns that may be affecting your wellbeing, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself, helping you find a way forward that feels right for you.
My first session
If you're considering therapy, you're welcome to get in touch by email, WhatsApp or phone to briefly tell me what has brought you to counselling. We'll then arrange a free introductory telephone call to discuss your needs, answer any questions, and see whether we feel like the right fit.
If you decide you'd like to continue, we'll arrange an initial assessment session to explore your experiences and what you hope to gain from therapy. If we both feel we're a good fit, we'll agree a regular appointment time.
Sessions are typically held weekly, although we can agree a different frequency if this better suits your needs. Sessions last 50 minutes and fees start from £65.
If you have any questions or would like to arrange a free introductory telephone call, I'd be pleased to hear from you.
