About me and my therapy practice
I am a highly experienced therapist with over 13 years clinical experience, working for the NHS and private practice. Most people benefit from an opportunity to talk about the difficulties they are experiencing or have experienced in their lives. Psychotherapy is a helping relationship that gives you the space to think about yourself, your life and the problems you may be facing. Through shared exploration you may find relief from recurring problems and live your life more fully. This is a process of change, as well as of understanding.
I am experienced in working with a diverse range of people with a variety of concerns, all seeking to change something in their life. I pay close attention to the impact of societal norms and power structures on our lives, striving to create a space where we can openly discuss differences, power dynamics, and their influence on your well-being.
I see therapy as a collaborative and supportive relationship, a unique space where we can explore what is happening in your life and make sense of how you are feeling. Together, we will shine a light on the challenges you are facing and explore the possibilities and choices available to you. My aim is to help you live more fully, develop deeper self understanding, and take meaningful steps toward lasting change.
Practice description
Making the decision to begin therapy can be difficult, I aim to help you feel at ease, offering a safe and confidential space where we can gently explore whatever has brought you here.
I know that some experiences or feelings can be hard to put into words. You might feel worried, embarrassed, or anxious about speaking openly. Please know that I will meet you with understanding and we will move at a pace that feels right for you.
Therapy can take time, and if you need long term support, that’s absolutely okay. You may also come with a specific issue that can be resolved more quickly, that is fine too. Together, we will discuss how we might work and how many sessions you may need. We can always adjust our approach as we go along.
As part of my integrative psychotherapy practice, I specialise in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), a highly effective approach for processing traumatic experiences. I work with people navigating PTSD, and C‑PTSD.
Alongside my practice, I work for the NHS as an EMDR specialist, working with people who have experienced traumatic events and have a diagnosis of PTSD and C-PTSD.
My first session
In our first session, we will begin by identifying the issues that are troubling you and discuss what you hope to gain from therapy. Together, we’ll set clear but flexible goals that can be adapted as our work progresses. We will explore your support networks, your family background, and any past experiences that may be influencing your life today. Finally, we’ll go over practical aspects such as session timings, boundaries, fees, confidentiality, and other important details so you know exactly what to expect as we move forward.
I offer a free initial consultation using video call or telephone.
