Practice description
My psychotherapy practice and counsulting room where I work both online and face-to-face is based in the village of South Walsham in Norfolk from where I provide counselling & psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families and groups.
The relationship that I have with my clients is central to the healing that can take place in therapy. The relationship that is formed in therapy is co-created by my client and I as we start to and continue to work together.
It is important to be clear from the outset of our work together on the consistency and continuity of our work and a clear agreement discussed between us on what our work will be about and how we might approach it. Clarity and clear boundaries combined with warmth and empathy provides a safe space to explore the issues brought to therapy at your own pace.
My first session
Finding someone you feel comfortable talking to
Coming for therapy for the first time is an important step and can be daunting and I believe that the most important thing about coming for therapy, is to find someone who you can talk to and feel that there is the potential for a professional therapeutic relationship to build over time.
What can I expect?
In terms of what to expect during that first session, my aim will be to connect with you and give you the space to relax and share a little of why you got in touch and what you are hoping for from therapy. It is my policy to speak to all new clients briefly on the phone in a phone assessment before coming to see me at the practice for their first session. So, we will have already had an initial conversation and have been in contact. I will have sent you a copy of my welcome letter and agreement, so that you can read more about how I work in my practice before we meet for your first session.
Sometimes people come to therapy because they know they don’t feel right, but are unsure what they want form therapy. This is OK, sometimes what you really need to talk about will emerge in the work as you gain more confidence in attending your therapy.
Together we will find a way of working together which feels comfortable for you.

About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced, qualified clinical UKCP and Â鶹Դ´ senior accredited supervisor providing individual and group supervision to qualified counsellors, psychologists and psychotherapists and across modalities. I am a Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst (TSTA). I provide supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists completing their professional training as supervisors and for accreditation. such as NCPS or Â鶹Դ´. In this way,I can facilitate empowering personal development and growth as clinical experience grows.
I would describe myself as an integrative psychotherapist with a relational approach.
