About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I am Corinna, a Â鶹Դ´-registered integrative counsellor.
I offer a warm, supportive, and confidential space where you can talk openly about whatever is bringing you to therapy. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, trauma, or the impact of domestic abuse, you will be met with empathy, respect, and understanding.
At times, life can feel overwhelming, leaving you feeling stuck, disconnected from yourself, or unsure of how to move forward. Reaching out for support can be a difficult step, and finding the right therapist is an important part of that process.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on different approaches to suit your individual needs, recognising that no two people are the same. My aim is to provide a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported as you navigate life's challenges
Therapy offers the opportunity to slow things down, reflect on your experiences, and gain a deeper understanding of yourself. Together, we can explore difficult emotions, challenge self-critical thoughts, recognise patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and help you reconnect with what matters to you.
.I offer face-to-face counselling from a private therapy room on Yarm High Street, alongside flexible appointment options.
Practice description
I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, trauma, loss, and life transitions.
I particular area of specialism in supporting people affected by domestic abuse. I understand the lasting impact abuse can have on confidence, identity, relationships, trust, and emotional wellbeing. Whether your experiences are recent or historic, therapy can provide a safe space to process what has happened, make sense of its impact, and begin moving forward at your own pace.
Alongside this, I support individuals who may be struggling with self-doubt, self-criticism, difficult emotions, or feeling disconnected from themselves. Therapy can help you develop greater self-awareness, recognise your strengths, develop greater self-compassion and feel more confident in yourself and your connections with others.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute introductory phone call, giving you the opportunity to ask questions about me and how I work, and discuss what you are looking for from counselling.
The first session is a chance to talk about what is bringing you to therapy, what you would like to focus on and any questions you may have about the process.
We can discuss how counselling works, confidentiality and the counselling agreement. It is also an opportunity for you to decide whether you feel comfortable working with me as your therapist.
We can agree a regular day and time each week to support consistency. If your schedule varies, flexible appointment options can be discussed to find an arrangement that works for you.
