About me and my therapy practice
I'm Louise, an integrative counsellor, meaning I will use more than one approach to provide the type of counselling you need. I offer a safe and confidential space where I can support you through what ever it is that you are going through.
My approach is deep rooted in Person-Centred Therapy, this focuses on creating a warm, accepting, and non-judgmental space where you will feel heard and understood.
I have supported individuals facing many mental health challenges such as, anxiety, depression, loss and grief (including complex) relationship issues, trauma, self-esteem/confidence issues and personal growth. I have extensive experience working with many clients who are ADHD and Neurodivergent. I have a strong background in offering emotional support for anyone living with chronic pain and illness. Through my own experiences I know there is limited support available and I want you to know you don't have to struggle alone.
Reaching out for counselling support can be difficult and often requires a lot of courage.
If you find yourself ruminating on the past, feeling stuck, unable to move forward, or if you're anxious about the future, we can work together to uncover what might be preventing you from living and embracing the present. If you are grieving, this is something you will always carry. We will work together to help you allow yourself to feel your loss of loved ones at different intensities throughout your life. Remembering them and reminicsing.
Practice description
I provide a free telephone consultation to discuss:
How I can support you.
Your expectations and identify what you would like to gain from your therapy.
This is your opportunity to ask me any questions about the counselling process.
Sessions can range from 6-12 weekly appointments. Clients usually notice improvements by this time frame.
Open ended sessions are offered as some clients may require these extended sessions due to more complex issues. Progress is reviewed regularly.
My first session
During your first session we will discuss the counsellor and client contract. You will be asked to sign the consent form containing the information from your initial telephone consultation (GDPR), an attendance form and an appointment cancellation policy (This takes a few minutes of your time, then we will begin your journey :)
