About me and my therapy practice

Hello, and welcome. My name is Rachel. I'm a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Â鶹ԭ´´), offering person-centred therapy in a safe, supportive, and confidential space.

Reaching out for support can feel daunting, but it's a courageous first step toward change. I'm here when you're ready.

My approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and genuine connection. I work in a trauma-informed way and have extensive experience supporting individuals affected by anxiety and depression, domestic abuse, financial crisis, as well as supporting families with young children through life's challenges. I understand how past experiences can shape the present, and I'm here to help you explore your feelings, rebuild confidence, and move toward healing at your own pace.

I'm passionate about making a positive difference in people's lives through counselling. Whether you're navigating anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, or relationship challenges, I aim to walk alongside you offering support without judgment, providing you the space to be truly heard.

Practice description

I currently offer counselling sessions online via Doxy, over the phone and Face to Face, giving you the flexibility to access support from a space that feels comfortable and private to you.

Online sessions are held through Doxy, a secure and confidential platform designed for therapeutic work. If you prefer, sessions can also take place over the phone. I take confidentiality seriously and ensure that all sessions are conducted in a safe, private setting.

If you feel unsure about using technology, I’m happy to support you in getting set up and feeling comfortable with the process. We can go at your pace, and I’ll do my best to make the experience as simple and accessible as possible.

Face to face sessions are held in a private room space within Barnsley.

My first session

Our first session is all about getting to know each other. This where we will discuss how we will work together and understand your preferences for our ongoing sessions. I will also conduct an initial assessment to understand where I can support you best. Ultimately it is about understanding your goals for therapy to work towards at your pace.
