About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Jack. I’m a qualified Counsellor and registered member of the Â鶹Դ´.
If you’re here, something isn’t working.
You might be feeling stuck, lost, or exhausted from trying to keep everything together and it takes real courage to admit there is a problem and to seek help.
I know first-hand that choosing a Counsellor can feel overwhelming. You’re expected to look through lots of profiles and somehow decide who feels right. So, I will try to give a brief overview of me.
My Aim for You -
To help make counselling feel more accessible and less intimidating. For many people there can still be stigma, uncertainty, or barriers around reaching out for support. I believe therapy should feel like something real people can access, not something distant, clinical, or only for certain situations.
I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself and able to talk openly about what’s going on in your life.
My Core Values -
1. THE RIGHT FIT MATTERS - Finding the right counsellor is one of the most important parts of therapy. It may be me, or it may not be, and that’s completely fine. What matters most is that you feel comfortable, understood, and able to be yourself.
2. NO JUDGEMENT - You can bring whatever you need to therapy. Your thoughts, feelings, experiences, or struggles will be met with understanding and respect. This is a space where you don’t have to pretend or hide parts of yourself.
3. HONESTY AND AUTHENTICITY - I believe therapy works best when both people can show up as real human beings. I will be genuine, open, and present in the work we do together.
4. YOU ARE THE FOCUS - My approach is person-centred, which means you decide what we talk about and the pace we work at. There is no pressure to talk about anything before you are ready.
5. CHANGE IS POSSIBLE - Even when life feels stuck or overwhelming, change is possible. Through greater self-understanding and awareness of patterns, people often begin to see new ways forward.
Practice description
Whatever is going on for you, therapy can help you to:
- Feel less anxious, stressed or overwhelmed
- Understand yourself and your relationships more clearly
- Build confidence and feel more comfortable in who you are
So that life starts to feel a little lighter and more manageable.
• You may be thinking about trying therapy for the first time and are not sure what to expect.
My aim is to make the process feel as natural and comfortable as possible, as someone who understands the power of therapy and how daunting it can feel to take that first step.
For some people, opening up can feel unfamiliar or uncomfortable. You do not need to have the right words or know where to start. Bring whatever you need, even if it's simply a feeling something isn’t right.
If you think I might be a good fit, you’re welcome to get in touch and we can arrange a free 15-minute introductory chat. There’s no pressure at all with this and if it doesn’t feel right, what matters most is that you find someone you feel comfortable with.
Like many people, there have been times in my life where I felt unsure of my direction and stuck in patterns that weren’t helping me. Therapy gave me the opportunity to understand myself more clearly and realise that change is possible.
I work within the Â鶹Դ´ Ethical Framework and offer a confidential, safe, and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever feels important to you.
My approach is person-centred, meaning you lead the process, and we work together at your pace. There is no pressure to talk about anything before you are ready. Over time, greater awareness of thoughts, feelings, and patterns can open up new possibilities and help you move forward in a way that feels authentic to you.
If you are thinking about starting therapy, or even just curious, you are very welcome to get in touch.
My first session
It is important you find the right Counsellor for you, so I offer a no-cost 15-minute introductory chat to experience how it feels to spend time together, and to explore how we might work together. This can be over the phone or online, depending on what works for you and there is absolutely no pressure at this point to commit to anything.
This is an opportunity to get to know a little about each other, for you to ask any questions about me or the counselling process, and to talk about what brings you to therapy. Please only share whatever feels comfortable.
If you then wish to book in a session with me I will send over any relevant information. There is no obligation to book anything more than one session if you don't wish to.
If we were to continue, we’ll build a working relationship with regular check-ins to ensure you feel heard, supported, and empowered to work at a pace that feels right.
Please feel free to get in touch.
I look forward to hearing from you.
