About me and my therapy practice
How we work together matters, and I see the therapeutic relationship as central to the counselling process.
I work as an integrative therapeutic counsellor, drawing on different counselling approaches and shaping the work around each person rather than following a fixed model. I aim to offer a space that feels steady, respectful and supportive.
I work at a pace that feels right for each client, beginning with what has brought them to counselling and what they hope to gain from the process. Sessions may involve exploring current difficulties, reflecting on past experiences or patterns, and developing a clearer understanding of how these continue to influence life in the present.
Alongside therapeutic exploration, I also bring a gentle coaching perspective where this feels appropriate. This can include supporting reflection, clarifying goals and exploring practical steps, always with attention to what feels manageable and meaningful for you. My approach is collaborative and relational, with care for each client’s individual needs, boundaries and circumstances.
Practice description
Reaching out for counselling often begins quietly, with a sense that something needs attention or space.
My practice offers a calm, confidential and supportive space to talk, reflect and make sense of what may be going on. I work with adults and offer both in-person sessions in Tunbridge Wells and online sessions.
I understand that coming to counselling can feel daunting, particularly if it is your first time. I aim to create an environment that feels safe, respectful and unpressured, where you are met with care rather than judgement.
Sessions are shaped around each individual and their needs. Some people come with a specific issue they would like to explore, while others may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed or unsure where to begin. The work can unfold at a pace that feels manageable and supportive for you.
My practice is grounded in clear professional boundaries, confidentiality and ongoing supervision, and I am committed to offering a thoughtful and ethical therapeutic service.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and begin to explore what has brought you to counselling. It offers space to talk about what is going on for you and what you might be hoping for from the work.
I will also ask some practical questions to help me understand your circumstances and to ensure that counselling is appropriate for you. We will discuss confidentiality, boundaries and how we might work together.
There is no obligation to continue beyond the first session, and it can be a helpful way to get a sense of whether the work feels right for you.
First sessions are charged at the same rate as ongoing sessions.
