About me and my therapy practice

I work psychodynamically, offering a supportive and reflective space where we can explore what may be going on for you, including how past experiences and relationships might be influencing the present. Psychodynamic counselling focuses on understanding emotional patterns, unconscious processes, and ways of relating that can shape how we see ourselves and others.

I place particular importance on the therapeutic relationship, as this can offer valuable insight into how difficulties develop and repeat over time. By paying attention to what emerges between us, therapy can support greater self-awareness, emotional understanding, and the possibility of change.

My way of working is relational, client-led, and paced carefully, allowing space for reflection rather than rushing towards solutions. I aim to provide a contained, thoughtful environment where difficult feelings can be explored safely and with curiosity.

I have extensive experience working with autistic and other neurodivergent young adults, informed by over twenty years of work in South East Asia, as well as experience supporting young adults and individuals around identity, social anxiety, coping with pressure, and life transitions. My practice is inclusive and sensitive to issues of culture, race, gender, sexuality, language, and power, and I am able to work multilingually.

I currently work with LGBTQ+ clients, including non-binary and gender-diverse individuals, and with survivors of sexual violence through my work at Survivors UK. My practice is trauma-informed, ethically grounded, and supported by regular clinical supervision.

Practice description

My way of working is relational, thoughtful, client-led, and trauma-informed. I place particular importance on the therapeutic relationship, as this can offer valuable insight into how difficulties develop and repeat over time. I aim to work at a pace that feels safe and manageable, allowing space for reflection rather than rushing towards solutions.

I work with young adults and individuals, particularly around issues of identity, self-esteem, social anxiety, coping with pressure, and concerns about goals, direction, and expectations, especially during times of transition. I have extensive experience working with autistic and other neurodivergent adults, informed by over twenty years of work with neurodivergent young adults in South East Asia. My approach is autism-affirming and attentive to individual communication styles and needs.

My practice is inclusive and sensitive to issues of culture, race, gender, sexuality, language, and power. I am able to work multilingually and value the role language plays in how people understand themselves and tell their stories. I currently work with LGBTQ+ clients, including non-binary and gender-diverse individuals, and with survivors of sexual violence through my work at Survivors UK.

I offer a 50-minute initial assessment session as an opportunity for us to begin understanding what has brought you to counselling and whether working together feels right for you.

My first session

My first session is a 50-minute initial assessment session. This session offers an opportunity for us to begin exploring what has brought you to counselling and to see whether working together feels like a good fit.

The assessment session is a gentle and collaborative space where you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. We may talk about what you are currently experiencing, what has led you to seek counselling at this time, and what you hope for from therapy. I may also ask some questions to help me understand your situation and consider how best to support you.

There is no obligation to continue beyond the initial session. It is also a chance for you to ask any questions about counselling, my way of working, or practical arrangements such as frequency of sessions.

I work in a trauma-informed and client-led way and aim to go at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.

The fee for the initial assessment session is the same as my ongoing session rate, with discounts available for frontline workers, high school, and university students.

If we decide to continue working together, we can think about next steps and what ongoing sessions might look like.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a psychodynamic counsellor, ADHD-CCSP Coach, and Registered Member of the 麻豆原创. I hold an MA in Special Needs and Inclusion and specialise in working with neurodivergent adults and women navigating menopause and midlife transitions.

Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, stuck in recurring patterns, or struggling with changes in their identity, relationships, or sense of self. They may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, burnout, relationship difficulties, or the impact of significant life changes.

I work with neurodivergent adults, including those with ADHD, autism, AuDHD, and individuals exploring the possibility of being neurodivergent. Feelings of being caught in a loop of overthinking, masking, self-doubt, or emotional overwhelm are common. My training has given me a strong understanding of neurodiversity, identity, belonging, and the impact these experiences can have on emotional wellbeing and relationships.

I also support women navigating menopause and midlife transitions. Menopause can be both a physical and psychological transition, bringing questions about identity, confidence, relationships, ageing, purpose, and the future. Changes in mood, self-esteem, intimacy, and relationship dynamics can feel confusing and isolating. Therapy offers a space to explore these experiences and make ense of yourself.

My approach is psychodynamic, which means we explore present-day difficulties as well as deeper emotional patterns and relationship experiences that may continue to influence your life. This can help increase self-awareness, reduce self-criticism, and create meaningful change.

I offer a warm, confidential, and non-judgemental space where we can work together at your pace. My aim is to help you better understand yourself and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself and others.

I offer therapy online and in person.

Practice description

I offer psychodynamic counselling for neurodivergent adults and women navigating menopause and midlife transitions.

People often come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, stuck in recurring patterns, or unsure of who they are becoming. They may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, burnout, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, or the impact of significant life changes.

I specialise in working with neurodivergent adults, including those with ADHD, autism, AuDHD, and individuals exploring the possibility of being neurodivergent. Many clients describe feeling caught in a loop of overthinking, masking, self-doubt, or emotional overwhelm, alongside a long-standing sense of being different or misunderstood. My MA in Special Needs and Inclusion and ADHD-CCSP Coaching qualification inform my understanding of neurodiversity, identity, belonging, and emotional wellbeing.

I also work with women experiencing menopause and midlife transitions. This stage of life can bring not only physical changes but also emotional and psychological shifts, including questions about identity, confidence, relationships, ageing, purpose, and the future. Changes in mood, self-esteem, intimacy, and relationship dynamics can feel confusing or isolating. Therapy provides a space to reflect on these experiences and make sense of them.

My approach is psychodynamic. This means we explore both current difficulties and the deeper emotional patterns and relationship experiences that may be shaping your life. Together, we may look at how past experiences influence present feelings, relationships, and ways of coping. Over time, this can help increase self-understanding, reduce self-criticism, and support more meaningful and lasting change.

Sessions take place in a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space. I work at your pace, with an emphasis on thoughtful reflection and emotional understanding rather than quick fixes.

I offer therapy online and in person, by phone, and in a journal.

My first session

The first session is a chance for us to meet and see how it feels to work together.

Many people come feeling unsure where to start, and that is completely okay. You do not need to prepare anything in advance or have the 鈥渞ight鈥 words. We will begin wherever feels most comfortable for you.

You might want to talk about what has been feeling difficult recently, patterns you have noticed in yourself or your relationships, or what you are hoping might feel different through therapy. Some people also choose to share aspects of their history or identity that feel important.

I will gently ask some questions to help me understand you and your situation better. This also helps us think together about whether psychodynamic therapy feels like the right fit for you.

For some clients, the first session already begins to highlight patterns such as overthinking, emotional overwhelm, masking, or relationship difficulties. We can begin to notice these together at a pace that feels safe.

There is no pressure to continue after this session. At the end, we will reflect together on whether you would like to proceed and whether I feel I am the right therapist for your needs. It is important that you feel a sense of safety and fit before beginning ongoing work.

If we decide to continue, we will usually agree a regular weekly session time. Consistency helps create the depth and continuity needed for psychodynamic work.

Above all, the first session is a space for you to feel heard, not judged, and to begin making sense of what has been feeling difficult.

Alongside my counselling training, I hold an MA in Special Needs and Inclusion and an ADHD-CCSP Coaching qualification, which inform my understanding of neurodiversity, identity, belonging, and emotional wellbeing.

Therapy offers a confidential and non-judgemental space to make sense of your experiences, develop self-understanding, and reduce self-criticism. Over time, this can support greater emotional clarity, resilience, and more fulfilling relationships.

I welcome enquiries from adults seeking support with neurodivergence, menopause and midlife changes, anxiety, burnout, trauma, self-esteem, and relationship difficulties.
