About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Abby, a fully qualified Humanistic Therapist who offers a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever has brought you to therapy. I believe that when people feel truly heard, accepted, and understood, they are better able to reconnect with themselves and move towards meaningful change.

I have experience working with both young people and adults, and I tailor my approach to meet each individual’s unique needs. While my style is gentle and caring, I am also comfortable offering appropriate challenge where it feels helpful, supporting you to explore patterns, beliefs, or experiences that may be holding you back.

I work with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, identity concerns, life transitions, loss, trauma, and emotional regulation, sexuality, relationship issues aswell as identity challenges and exploration. Sessions are led by you, at your pace, with a focus on what feels most important in the moment.

I am passionate about people and deeply believe that humans are designed for connection. Many of the difficulties we experience can stem from disconnection — from ourselves, from others, or from our experiences. Therapy can offer a space to rebuild that connection, helping you develop greater self-understanding, self-compassion, and a stronger sense of authenticity

I have experience working with a variety of different clients; as well as being a qualified counsellor I am also a qualified specialist mentor for adults with neurodiversity.

My first session

I offer a free 20 minute initial call - this is an opportunity for us to discuss your reasons for coming to cousnelling and for me to asnwer any questions that you may have. Following this, if you feel that I am right for you, we will book in our first 50 minute session.

Sessions are held one or two times weekly to begin with - moving to bi-weekly when you feel that this is right for you.

There is no 'set' amount of sessions. It is completely up to you, therapy is personal and for some it is more long term; for others a short term approach is prefered.
