About me and my therapy practice
Working with children and young people (ages 9–18)
I am a qualified counsellor working with children and young people in both state and independent schools across North London. I have supported pupils with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties, helping them build confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing. I have also worked with the UK’s leading school-based mental health charity, gaining valuable experience providing therapeutic support within educational settings.
I work in an integrative, child-centred way, adapting my approach to each young person’s individual needs, personality and stage of development. Sessions may include talking therapy alongside creative methods such as art, games and play-based activities, which can help children and young people express feelings that are difficult to put into words. I aim to offer a calm, safe and non-judgemental space where young people feel heard, understood and supported at their own pace.
Alongside my professional experience, I am also a mum to school-aged children. This gives me a genuine understanding of the joys and challenges of parenting, and the worry that can come with seeing your child struggle. I bring this empathy into my work, supporting both the child and the wider context around them.
Working with adults
I understand how difficult it can be to take the first step and ask for help. I work integratively, meaning I tailor therapy to you rather than expecting you to fit a particular approach. Whether you want space to talk, or to explore and understand an issue in more depth, we will work together at a pace that feels right for you.
I offer short-term, long-term or time-limited counselling, depending on your needs and preferences. Sessions are confidential and available in person, online or by phone, providing a safe, non-judgemental space where you can be yourself.
Before training as a counsellor, I graduated with an LLB (Hons) degree and worked in Financial Services.
Practice description
I’m committed to creating a therapeutic space that feels safe, consistent, and supportive. I take an integrative approach, combining cognitive, psychodynamic and humanistic modalities, and tailor my support to suit each client’s needs and goals.
I work across North London, including Barnet, Enfield, Finchley, Southgate, Mill Hill and Muswell Hill. For children and young people, sessions take place on-site within schools, in a private room arranged by the school. This approach helps make counselling accessible while minimising disruption to the school day. Sessions are offered during the school day, in term time only, and take place at a regular weekly time to provide consistency and routine. The exact day and time are agreed with the school and confirmed in advance.
For adults, I offer online or telephone counselling. I can arrange face-to-face sessions upon request.
If you’d like to know more, please feel free to get in touch and we can talk through the next steps.
My first session
Our first step is a free 15-minute introductory chat. This is an opportunity to meet, ask questions and see whether working together feels right. Counselling sessions last 50 minutes, and we can agree on either a short-term or open-ended approach depending on your needs.
Parents or carers usually make the initial contact with me. With consent, I then liaise directly with the school to arrange weekly sessions for the child, held at the same time each week. This consistency helps create a sense of safety, trust and reliability.
