About me and my therapy practice
- I offer a warm, calm, and non-judgmental space where you can talk openly about whatever is on your mind.
- I work at your pace, following what feels important to you rather than pushing an agenda or offering quick fixes.
- I don’t see people as broken. Therapy is about understanding how you’ve learned to cope and making sense of what life has been like for you.
- My work is rooted in a person-centred approach, meaning I respect your autonomy and trust your inner wisdom.
- Our relationship matters. Feeling safe, understood, and accepted is central to the work we do together.
- Where it feels helpful, we may gently explore how past experiences or relationships still affect you today.
- Sessions are collaborative and reflective, offering space to think, feel, and begin to understand yourself more clearly.
- I work ethically and safely, with regular supervision, ongoing training, and in line with the Â鶹Դ´ Ethical Framework.
- I offer online and telephone counselling.
Practice description
Below is a list of client issues I have experience with:
- Anxiety, low mood, trauma: I offer a calm, trauma-informed space to help you make sense of what you’re experiencing, at a pace that feels right for you.
- Attachment/relationship difficulties: Many people come to therapy on their own, yet relationships, past or present, are often at the heart of what feels difficult. I support clients to explore relational patterns shaped by earlier experiences.
- Identity changes, life transitions: Times of change can affect how you see yourself and your place in the world. For example, redundancy, empty-nest syndrome. Therapy offers space to reflect, adjust, and reconnect with yourself.
- Disability / chronic illness: Living with a disability or long-term condition can affect identity, confidence, relationships, and emotional well-being. I offer a supportive space to explore these experiences with understanding and compassion.
- Pregnancy, motherhood, and loss: Drawing on my background as a former midwife, I offer a compassionate, trauma-informed space for parents and partners, including fathers, to explore the emotional impact of pregnancy, birth, and loss.
- Young people (13–18): Adolescence is a crucial stage of emotional, social, and identity development. I offer a safe and supportive space for young people to explore feelings, relationships, and sense of self during this important time.
My first session
I offer a free 30-minute introductory session, which I encourage clients to book via my website. This is an opportunity to meet, ask questions, and see whether working together feels right before committing to ongoing therapy.
Before the first full session, I ask clients to complete a brief assessment form, which helps me understand what has brought you to therapy and ensures the work begins safely and appropriately.
The first full session is a space to explore what you would like from therapy, discuss practical and ethical matters such as confidentiality, and begin the therapeutic work at your pace.
I work collaboratively and welcome regular feedback, which I invite every few sessions to ensure therapy remains helpful and responsive to your needs.
The first full session is charged at the same rate as ongoing sessions.
