Availability
I currently have availability for new clients. I offer sessions during the daytime on weekdays, with evening sessions available online only. Sessions are usually held weekly at an agreed time.
I also offer a free 30-minute introductory meeting, online or by phone, to help us decide whether working together feels right.
If I need to take planned time away, this will always be discussed with you in advance. I place importance on being reliable and consistent in my availability, as this helps create a sense of safety and continuity in therapy.
Please feel free to get in touch to ask about current availability, and I will respond as soon as I am able.
About me and my therapy practice
There are times when life feels heavy, confusing, or overwhelming. You may appear to be coping on the outside while inside feeling stuck, anxious, low, or worn down by patterns that no longer make sense. For some people, things feel as though they are falling apart; for others, something simply no longer feels quite right. Both are valid reasons to seek therapy.
I am a therapist who works using Transactional Analysis, an approach I value for its clarity and accessibility. At the heart of my work is careful listening and a wish to understand the themes that shape your unique life story, explore what has brought you to therapy, and begin to make sense of the difficulties you are facing.
I work collaboratively, helping you explore how past experiences and relationships may have shaped your ways of coping in the present. Through curiosity, gentle enquiry, and careful challenge, we can begin to notice what no longer serves you and make sense of how these patterns developed. This creates space for new understanding and choice, often helping to reduce feelings of anxiety or overwhelm.
My work includes supporting people with difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, trauma, and experiences of loss or bereavement, as well as the impact these can have on self-esteem, identity, and relationships. I work with people facing health-related concerns, stress, and challenges connected to work or major life changes. I also have a particular interest in supporting people who are exploring or coming to terms with neurodiversity, and the effect this can have on how they understand themselves and move through the world.
I believe deeply in the value of counselling, having experienced its benefits personally and witnessed how it can support people to find relief from distress, develop greater self-understanding, and build a kinder relationship with themselves. My aim is to offer a warm, professional, and ethical space where you can feel welcomed, respected, and taken seriously.
Practice description
My practice offers a calm, thoughtful space where you do not need to have the right words or a clear understanding of what is wrong. You are welcome to bring whatever feels most present for you, whether that is something specific or a more general sense of feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure.
Sessions are a time for you to speak freely and be met with careful attention and respect. I listen closely to what you share, and together we begin to notice patterns, themes, and ways of coping that may have developed over time. Through gentle enquiry and reflection, we work towards greater understanding, helping you make sense of your experiences in a way that feels manageable and supportive.
I work at a pace that feels right for you. There is no pressure to talk about anything before you are ready, and no expectation that change should happen quickly. Therapy is a collaborative process, shaped by your needs and guided by curiosity rather than judgement.
My aim is to offer a consistent, reliable, and ethical therapeutic relationship where you can feel safe enough to explore difficult experiences and begin to develop a kinder, more compassionate relationship with yourself.
My first session
I offer a free 30-minute introductory meeting online or by phone. This is a chance for us to get to know each other, discuss what brings you here, and see if working together feels like a good fit. There’s no obligation to continue, and you can ask any questions you have.
If you decide to proceed, I’ll invite you to complete a short introductory form that asks a little about you and what you’d like to focus on. This is simply to help you reflect and prepare for our work together. You only need to share what feels comfortable and helpful. If writing is difficult, we can go through the form together during a session, or I can provide it in different formats to suit your needs.
Your first therapy session will be a gentle exploration of your experiences, at a pace that suits you. There’s no need to prepare anything or share more than you feel ready to.
We will also talk about confidentiality and how we work together, including practical details.
Feeling nervous before your first session is normal. My aim is to provide a calm, respectful space where you feel safe, heard, and supported. Therapy is a collaborative process to help you gain understanding and find the best way forward for you.
If you’d like to arrange your introductory meeting, please get in touch.
