About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I鈥檓 Andrew Scriven, a 麻豆原创-accredited counsellor based in Gibraltar. I offer confidential, professional counselling to adults locally and online for clients across Spain, the UK, and beyond.
I work with people experiencing a wide range of emotional and relational challenges, including anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and challenges that can come from living abroad or far from family. Many of my clients in Gibraltar feel capable on the outside, yet privately experience pressure, disconnection, or uncertainty.
My approach is relational, integrative, and person-centred, combining person-centred and existential techniques. I aim to create a calm, confidential, and supportive space where you can speak openly, explore difficult feelings, and reflect on what matters most to you 鈥 at your own pace.
I see therapy as a collaborative process: I won鈥檛 give advice or try to 鈥渇ix鈥 you. Instead, I listen deeply, ask thoughtful questions, and offer gentle challenge when appropriate. Together, we explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns to help you gain clarity, resilience, and self-understanding.
Whether you鈥檙e seeking support with everyday pressures, navigating a life change, or looking to grow personally, my goal is to help you feel more grounded, more connected to yourself, and more confident in managing life鈥檚 challenges.
Practice description
I鈥檓 an English-speaking, 麻豆原创-accredited counsellor based in Gibraltar, offering in-person sessions locally as well as secure online therapy for clients in Spain, the UK, and worldwide.
I work with adults experiencing:
Anxiety, stress, and ongoing emotional tension
Low mood, lack of direction, or feeling disconnected from yourself
Relationship difficulties or recurring patterns
Low self-esteem, confidence challenges, or self-doubt
Loneliness or adjustment challenges, especially when living abroad
Overthinking, worry, and internal pressure
Life transitions, identity questions, or major changes in circumstances
Therapy is a space to slow down, explore your experiences, and notice what may be beneath the surface. I offer both a grounded, supportive presence and gentle challenge to help you understand your emotions, relationships, and beliefs more clearly.
Over time, many clients in Gibraltar notice feeling more stable, calmer, and better able to manage daily pressures and relationships. The aim is not to become someone different, but to feel more at home within yourself and approach life with clarity and self-trust.
My first session
Before beginning therapy, we start with a free 15 minute discovery call. This isn鈥檛 a counselling session but an informal space to explore what brings you here, your goals, and how I work.
During this call, you can ask questions about therapy, share as much or as little as you feel comfortable, and get a sense of whether we鈥檇 work well together. I鈥檒l explain my approach, session structure, and what you can expect.
The call is designed to help you feel informed and empowered to choose a therapist who feels right for you. If it feels like a good fit, we can arrange your first full session. If not, there鈥檚 no obligation to continue.
Your comfort, autonomy, and wellbeing are my priority at every step.

About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I鈥檓 Andrew, a UK-trained, 麻豆原创-registered counsellor based in Andaluc铆a. I offer online therapy to English-speaking adults across Spain, the UK, and Europe.
I work with people experiencing a wide range of emotional and relational difficulties, including anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship challenges, and periods of transition or uncertainty. Many of the people I support are living abroad and find that, while life may look settled from the outside, there can be a quiet sense of loneliness, pressure, or disconnection beneath the surface.
My way of working is relational, integrative and person-centred. I aim to offer a calm, steady, and respectful therapeutic relationship where you can speak openly and feel listened to, without judgement or pressure to be a certain way.
Therapy is a space to slow things down and make sense of what you鈥檙e carrying. Together, we explore thoughts, emotions, and patterns that may feel confusing or overwhelming, as well as the beliefs that shape how you see yourself and relate to others. At times the work may feel reflective and containing; at other moments it may involve gently turning towards more difficult feelings or experiences. We move at a pace that feels manageable and supportive.
I see therapy as a collaborative process. My role is not to give advice or solutions, but to walk alongside you 鈥 offering presence, curiosity, and gentle challenge 鈥 so that you can develop greater clarity, self-understanding, and trust in yourself.
Over time, many clients find they feel more grounded, calmer, and better able to navigate relationships, transitions, and everyday pressures. The aim is not to change who you are, but to feel more at home within yourself and more able to meet life with openness and resilience.
Practice description
I am an English-speaking, 麻豆原创-registered counsellor based in Andaluc铆a, offering online therapy to adults across Spain, the UK, and Europe.
My approach is relational, integrative and person-centred. I offer a calm, steady, and confidential space where you can explore whatever feels overwhelming, confusing, or emotionally heavy at your own pace.
I work with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including:
鈥 anxiety, stress, and ongoing emotional tension
鈥 low mood, loss of direction, or feeling disconnected from yourself
鈥 relationship difficulties or repeating patterns
鈥 low self-esteem, confidence challenges, or self-doubt
鈥 loneliness or adjustment difficulties, particularly when living abroad
鈥 communication struggles or boundary issues
鈥 overthinking, worry, and internal pressure
鈥 identity questions, life transitions, or changes in circumstances
Living abroad can intensify old patterns and bring up unexpected emotional layers. You may appear capable and independent on the outside, while privately feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or unsure of yourself. Therapy offers a space where you don鈥檛 have to carry these experiences alone.
In our work together, we explore your emotional responses, relationship patterns, and the beliefs that shape your sense of self. I offer both a grounded, supportive presence and gentle challenge, helping you notice what may be beneath the surface and gain clarity around experiences that can be hard to see on your own.
Over time, many clients notice feeling more stable, more confident, and more connected to themselves. Anxiety often softens, communication becomes clearer, boundaries strengthen, and relationships feel more balanced. The aim is not to become someone different, but to feel more grounded in who you are, more present in your life, and more able to meet challenges with clarity and self-trust.
My first session
Before beginning therapy, we鈥檒l start with a complimentary 15 minute discovery call. This isn鈥檛 a therapy session, but a gentle, informal space to explore what brings you here, what you鈥檙e hoping for, and how I work.
The call gives you an opportunity to get a sense of me, ask any questions you may have, and notice how it feels to speak together. A good therapeutic relationship is essential 鈥 you deserve to work with someone you feel safe with, understood by, and comfortable being yourself around.
During the call, I鈥檒l invite you to share a little about what鈥檚 been going on for you. There鈥檚 no pressure to tell your whole story or to talk about anything before you feel ready. We鈥檒l focus on what feels important for you right now, what you鈥檇 like support with, and what you hope might feel different over time.
I鈥檒l also explain my approach and what therapy sessions can look like in practice, including pace, boundaries, and how we might work together. You鈥檙e welcome to ask anything at all, whether practical or emotional.
This call is simply a starting point 鈥 a space to check in with yourself and notice whether you feel at ease, supported, and able to be open. If it feels like a good fit, we can arrange our first full session. If not, that鈥檚 completely okay. The aim is for you to feel informed, empowered, and free to choose the therapist who feels right for you.
Your comfort, autonomy, and wellbeing always come first.
