About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative therapist offering a warm, respectful and non-judgemental space where individuals and couples can explore whatever has brought them to therapy. People seek therapy for many different reasons. Sometimes there is a clear difficulty or crisis, and at other times there may be a quieter sense that something does not feel right in your life, relationships, or sense of self. You do not need to arrive with everything worked out — therapy can be a place to think, reflect and make sense of what is happening for you.

I aim to work alongside you at a pace that feels safe, manageable and respectful of your circumstances. I recognise that beginning therapy can feel daunting, particularly if you are feeling vulnerable, ashamed, stuck or unsure where to start. My intention is to provide a supportive and containing environment where you can speak openly and honestly, without fear of judgement.

Practice description

As an integrative practitioner, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and adapt my work to suit your individual needs, rather than offering a one-size-fits-all model.

My work is grounded in a relational and collaborative approach. I pay close attention to the therapeutic relationship, as I believe that trust, honesty and compassion are central to meaningful therapeutic change.

Depending on your needs, our work may involve exploring past experiences, current patterns of thinking or behaviour, emotional responses, and relational dynamics. Where appropriate, I may also support you in developing practical strategies for coping, emotional regulation and change. I will regularly check in with you about how therapy feels and whether it is meeting your needs.

I work with:

Adults (18+) on an individual basis

Couples at all stages of their relationship

Clients come to me with a wide range of concerns, including but not limited to:

Anxiety and stress

Depression and low mood

Relationship difficulties

Self-esteem and confidence issues

Shame, guilt and self-criticism

Life transitions and identity questions

Emotional regulation and coping strategies

Communication difficulties

Trauma and attachment-related concerns

Alongside working with general therapeutic issues, I have additional training and experience in working with the following areas.

Compulsive Sexual Behaviour Disorder (CSBD)

I work with individuals affected by compulsive or out-of-control sexual behaviours.

Problematic pornography use

I work with individuals and couples who feel that pornography use has become distressing, compulsive, or no longer aligned with their values or relationships.

I support clients experiencing behavioural addictions and substance-related difficulties. My work focuses on understanding the role the behaviour plays in your life, exploring triggers and maintaining factors, and supporting harm reduction where appropriate.

My first session

Attending your first therapy session can feel daunting, particularly if you are feeling vulnerable, anxious, or unsure about what to expect. It is very common to feel nervous, and you are not expected to know what to say or how therapy should work. The first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know each other and to explore what has brought you to therapy.

At the start of the session, I will explain how therapy with me works, including confidentiality, boundaries, and practical arrangements. This helps ensure that you feel informed and able to give consent to the therapeutic process. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about therapy or about how I work.

You will be invited to talk about what has led you to seek therapy at this point in your life. You are free to share as much or as little as feels comfortable. There is no pressure to disclose everything in the first session, and we will work at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.

We may begin to explore how your current difficulties are affecting you, your relationships, or your day-to-day life. Where relevant, I may ask gentle questions to help build a picture of your experiences, but the session is not an assessment or test. The focus is on understanding you and what you need from therapy.

Towards the end we will reflect together on how the meeting has felt and consider what you would like from ongoing therapy. This might include discussing possible goals, frequency of sessions, or any concerns you may have. Importantly, the first session is also an opportunity for you to decide whether you feel comfortable working with me. Finding the right therapist is an important part of the process.

My aim is for the first session to feel supportive, respectful and containing. You do not need to prepare anything in advance or arrive with a clear plan. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we will take the time needed to understand what feels most helpful for you.
