About me and my therapy practice

Life can look as though it’s going well on the outside, while inside it feels heavy and demanding.

You may be holding a lot together, work, relationships, family, and a constant stream of thoughts, replaying conversations, questioning yourself, or feeling guilty for needing support.

You might be wanting clearer boundaries, a kinder inner voice, or a way to stop repeating patterns in work or relationships that leave you feeling anxious, resentful, or drained.

Therapy offers a steady, confidential space to talk openly without worrying about burdening others.

It can help you understand how your past is shaping your present, and support you in finding a way of living that feels more sustainable and more your own.

Practice description

I’m Marianthi Kolovopoulos, a Counselling Psychologist in Doctoral Training.

I have over ten years of clinical experience across NHS services, private practice, and community organisations.

I work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, identity and self-esteem issues, body image concerns, and significant life transitions.

My approach is existential-phenomenological and integrative. In plain terms, this means I focus on understanding who you are and how you experience the world, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model.

Our work is collaborative, reflective, and shaped around your needs and pace.

I also hold a first-class Master’s degree in Experimental Psychology and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MÂ鶹ԭ´´).

My first session

Finding the right therapist matters.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can talk about what has brought you to therapy and see whether working together feels like a good fit.

In your first full session, we will begin to explore what is currently going on for you, your background, and what you would like from therapy. There is no pressure to share everything at once.

Sessions are collaborative and reflective, with the aim of creating a safe, grounded space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported to explore your experiences at your own pace.
