About me and my therapy practice

I’m a British-born counsellor based in Geneva and online. I work with adults navigating the twists and turns of life - whether that’s anxiety about the future, challenges in parenting, relationship strain, cultural adjustment or career crossroads. I offer sessions in both English and French, supporting clients with diverse backgrounds and life experiences.

My path into counselling has been shaped by personal and professional experiences. Before retraining, I worked as a teacher for nearly two decades, and I’m also a parent and expat turned immigrant. These roles helped me understand the pressures that many of us carry - the juggling, the questioning, the emotional load - and inspired me to step into a new chapter focused on supporting others.

I am particularly interested in working with parents and teachers, especially those living or working in an international context, as my lived experience is that the best way to support children and young people's mental health and wellbeing is to look after the the adults who raise, care for and educate them.

I offer a calm, compassionate space where you can slow down, explore what’s on your mind, and reconnect with what really matters to you. My approach is grounded in empathy, curiosity, and collaboration. I believe that growth happens when we feel seen, heard, and understood.

Whether you’re navigating change, looking to understand yourself better, or simply feeling stuck, you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

My Qualifications

I have a BSc in Social Psychology and MA in Counselling, and before training to be a counsellor, I was a Primary School teacher in the UK and in Switzerland. I complete regular training and supervision to stay up-to-date with recent evidence-based approaches, and further develop my counselling skills and knowledge. I am a member of the Swiss Association for Counselling (SGfB) a registered member of the Â鶹ԭ´´, and adhere to their ethics frameworks.

Practice description

You might be feeling unsure about counselling, so let me explain what to expect.

Counselling offers a confidential, non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever’s on your mind - whether it’s anxiety, relationship difficulties, burnout, grief, or a vague sense that something just doesn’t feel right. It’s a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself.

I work integratively, which means I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to suit your unique needs and preferences. My role is to support you with curiosity, compassion, and care - helping you make sense of your story, recognise patterns, and discover ways forward that feel manageable and meaningful.

At the heart of my work is a humanistic philosophy: I see you as the expert in your own life and trust in your innate capacity to grow and heal. Depending on what feels most helpful for you, I may suggest various approaches which offer practical tools and deeper insights, such as:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)

You don’t need to know anything about these models before starting; our work together will be guided by your pace, your story, and what feels most helpful to you. The most important part is that you feel heard, supported, and empowered as we explore your path forward.

My first session

I offer a free 15 minute introductory call for us to meet and find out if working together might be a good fit. We will talk about why you are seeking counselling and discuss some of the practical aspects like scheduling and fees.

Ahead of your first session, I will ask you to read and sign a client information form and agreement, which is important to give me some more background information, and ensure that the counselling process and my policies are transparent, and you give your informed consent.

If you decide to go ahead with counselling, the first 50 minute appointment is a chance for us to get to know each other and we’ll discuss your current challenges, goals, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I’ll explain the process, answer your questions, and make sure you feel comfortable with the way I work.

Research shows that the most important factor across all counselling approaches is the quality of the relationship between counsellor and client, so the first session plays an important role in building trust and understanding.
