About me and my therapy practice
I am a person-centred counsellor dedicated to offering a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can feel truly heard and understood. My approach is grounded in empathy and genuine connection, allowing you to explore your experiences at your own pace and in your own way.
I believe each person has the innate capacity for growth and healing. My role is to walk alongside you, offering support and acceptance, as you reconnect with your inner strengths and discover what feels right for you.
I offer counselling to all adults and have had experience with a whole range of emotional issues. I have recently worked extensively with survivors of domestic abuse, and this has deepened my passion for supporting those who have been impacted by abusive or unhealthy relationships. If something doesn’t feel right, it may be the time to reach out and talk about it.
I also have a particular interest in the following areas:
• Anxiety and Stress – supporting you to understand what lies beneath your worry, reduce overwhelm, and build resilience.
• Bereavement and Loss, including anticipatory grief – providing gentle, compassionate support as you navigate loss, transition, or life changes.
• Loneliness – offering a supportive, understanding space where you can explore your feelings of isolation.
I am here to listen to you and help you make sense of anything you choose to bring to your sessions.
Practice description
My priority is the person in front of me, whatever you bring. You may not know what your 'issue' is, you just know that something needs to change. Talking to someone who properly listens and supports you can be transformative, it really can help. Counselling can bring clarity, insight and greater self-awareness. If you are thinking about it and you are not sure what you are going through is important enough, please know that you matter and asking for support is a positive first step towards looking after yourself.
Choosing a counsellor is a personal decision and feeling comfortable with the person you talk to is essential. The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful change, so it’s important that you feel safe, understood and able to be yourself. I will offer you a consistent, confidential space where you can talk openly. I will show you unconditional positive regard and be alongside you as you work out next steps.
In our sessions, you can expect warmth, honesty and acceptance. You should never feel you have to mask your feelings or pretend to be okay. Whether you are facing a specific difficulty, or simply feeling lost, overwhelmed or stuck, you are welcome exactly as you are. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you arrive, just bring yourself. Together we can explore what you are experiencing and gently uncover what you need to move forward.
My first session
I offer a free introductory chat by phone or Zoom (15-30 mins) and then, if you would like to progress, we will agree a session day, time and start date. I will email a working agreement for you to read through before we start our sessions together and we can discuss this either before or during the first session. I will also send out a personal details form that you can complete and return before we meet or we can go through together.
