About me and my therapy practice

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor offering a reflective and culturally sensitive space for adults who want to understand themselves more deeply. My work is grounded in the belief that our early experiences, relationships and unconscious patterns shape how we feel and relate today. 

I completed my academic training in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy at Birkbeck, University of London where I graduated with a Masters. My training included having several years of personal therapy and therefore, I have an understanding of how a client feels embarking on their therapeutic journey with a therapist.

My clinical training includes working at The Priory Hospital, where I supported both CAMHS and Adult General Psychology services. I co-facilitated therapeutic groups across CBT, Art Therapy and Mindfulness modalities, conducted assessments, and supported patients. 

I have also volunteered as a Telephone Befriender for Age UK East London, providing weekly support to individuals facing loneliness and depression. While at Tower Hamlets Talking Therapies, I provided short-term and long-term psychodynamic therapy both online and in-person for patients and I also presented Relational Group Webinars.

Many of my patients presented with depression, anxiety, childhood trauma, disordered eating, estrangement, transgenerational trauma and mental abuse. Working with patients from very diverse backgrounds and varied presentations has given me a solid foundation for therapeutic work. 

Alongside my practice, I have 30 years of experience working within local government compliance including training colleagues, and assisting with creating and implementing policies and procedures.

Practice description

I offer once-weekly 50 minute sessions where I am committed to providing a safe environment for individuals seeking mental health support to help clients explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours in a confidential setting. I invite you to contact me so we can explore your experiences to bring you clarity and enable emotional stability for long-term positive change.

Counselling and psychotherapy can offer a supportive space to better understand yourself, your emotions, and the patterns that shape your relationships and choices. Over time, therapy can help reduce feelings of distress, improve emotional resilience, and support healthier ways of coping with life’s challenges. By exploring and reflecting on experiences both in the past and present, many people find greater clarity and self-compassion, allowing for more meaningful connections and lasting personal growth.

My first session

In your first session, you can expect a supportive space where we will spend some time exploring what has brought you to therapy, any current concerns you may have, your family history and what you hope to achieve from our work together. 

I will also explain how psychodynamic therapy works, including confidentiality and boundaries, and answer any questions you may have. The first session is a chance to begin building trust and see whether this feels like the right space for you - there is no pressure to share more than feels comfortable to you.
