About me and my therapy practice
My name is Dominik, and I help my clients work through emotional pain, build self-compassion, and regain agency.
I trained as a counsellor at The Gestalt Centre in London. My experience includes working in community-based counselling services, supporting adults in crisis through suicide prevention and counselling survivors of childhood sexual abuse through a dedicated charity. This work deepened my understanding of trauma, resilience, and the power of safe, relational space.
In my private practice, I work with adults using a Gestalt approach, gently woven with person-centred values. Whether you're exploring your identity, healing from trauma, or navigating emotional overwhelm — you'll be met with presence, care, and no pressure to "fix" anything before you're ready.
My particular professional interests lie in supporting men working through emotional complexity, people exploring cultural identity and displacement and survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
Whatever brings you here, you'll be met with respect and without judgment.
Practice description
My approach is built on empathy and presence—creating space for you even when words feel difficult. I work experientially, using Gestalt techniques that focus on present-moment awareness, body sensations, and practical experiments to catalyse genuine change. I'm committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming environment for all clients, regardless of your background, gender identity or sexual orientation.
I offer both short-term and longer-term counselling, tailored to your needs — in person, online, or by phone. We’ll start with a free 20-minute phone consultation so you can get a feel for how we might work together.
Sessions are 50 minutes, typically weekly. I'm flexible with both duration and format—offering short-term focused work or longer-term support.
My first session
The first appointment is designed to see how we work together, understand your needs, and explore your goals for counselling. This isn't a diagnostic session—my focus is on listening, understanding your experience, and collaboratively setting the scope of our work.
This session is also a chance for you to ask questions, share any concerns, and decide whether working together feels right for you. There's no pressure to continue—your comfort and choice are central to our process. We'll discuss the practical details of our work, and what to expect as we move forward.
