About me and my therapy practice

You might be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like you鈥檝e been carrying far too much on your own. Maybe things don鈥檛 feel 鈥渂ad enough,鈥 but something in you knows it鈥檚 time to talk. I help people make sense of what鈥檚 happening inside by untangling the noise and finding a way forward that actually fits who you are.

Working with me is grounded and collaborative. I bring curiosity, warmth and a straightforward style that helps you explore what鈥檚 going on without feeling judged or hurried. Together we鈥檒l slow things down, spot the patterns that keep pulling you off course and understand what needs attention, whether it鈥檚 old hurt, relationship strain, identity questions or the quiet burnout of holding everything together.

I work with adults from all backgrounds and identities, offering weekly sessions online or in person. If you鈥檙e not sure where to begin, that鈥檚 completely fine 鈥 most people aren鈥檛. We can start wherever you are.

Practice description

Therapy should be a space where you feel valued and understood, whoever you are and whatever has brought you here. Inclusivity and equality sit at the heart of how I work. I am LGBT+ affirmative, committed to trans and non-binary inclusion, and supportive of people with disabilities and those who are neurodivergent.

Together, we look at how culture, race, gender, sexuality, disability, class, and other aspects of identity shape your life and your experience of therapy.

Openness and curiosity are key, and I鈥檒l always make space for you to bring every part of who you are into the work. That might mean having honest conversations about cultural differences, gender identity, or any other part of who we are 鈥 always with the understanding that, at heart, we鈥檙e all people deserving of respect and care.

My first session

Before starting regular sessions, I offer a short telephone introduction. This is a chance for us to get to know each other and see whether therapy with me feels like the right fit for you. We鈥檒l talk a little about where you鈥檙e at and what you want to achieve, and I鈥檒l explain how I work. You鈥檙e welcome to ask any questions.

Many people find this first step helps ease some of the nerves that naturally come with starting therapy. It鈥檚 also your opportunity to get a feel for me as a counsellor 鈥 to decide whether I鈥檓 someone you鈥檇 like to work with. In a very real sense, you鈥檙e interviewing me, and I welcome that.

If it feels right, we can then agree a regular time to meet 鈥 either online or in person 鈥 and begin working together. If at any point I believe I鈥檓 not the right person to support you, I will be open about this and, where possible, signpost you to other services or practitioners.
